Elliot Anderson

Showed some unbelievable skill tonight. Mark of his progress too that nobody was even slightly worried when he came on for Tonali. He's a first team player proper now and showing it every week.

Also the decision to keep him rather than loan him out was 100% correct. He's getting a bit more game time, and that atmosphere, those 20+ minutes and big match experience will have served him far better than 90 mins in front of 14k playing for Blackburn or Swansea on the same night.

I think we needed to keep him due to a lack of numbers again. Like Lascelles injuries have fallen in his favour. But he's taken the opportunity with both hands. Last season he was never really trusted. Howe would like Joelinton and co. puff out their arse before bringing Anderson on. This season, he's a contender to start matches. Last season he was backup, this season he's a proper first team option.

He did what he needed to do when he came on. Will be unlucky not to start West Ham.

I agree with this, he is getting game time this season due to the number of injuries we have rather than there being a plan in place to develop him in to a first team regular. He has took that chance and been excellent in the majority of games which is a credit to how good he is, certainly above the level of Swansea and Blackburn.

Spoke to one of his family members tonight. A broken bone in his back. Out for around 6-8 weeks.

Eddie just mentioned it in press conference. What is going on - the list keeps growing.
