Seems to be a lot of whispers about Howe too.

Probably just Amanda telling him in a meeting.

That doesn't mean there isn't an acknowledgement at St James' Park of the need for change - or the size of the task ahead. "We know the scale of what needs to be done," was the word from one source. But the rapid pace of change has taken everyone by surprise. The quick call, it seems they think, could be the wrong call.

Whether Bruce gets Saturday's trip to Palace or not depends on whether the "right" solution can be found. The manager himself continues to plan for the Selhurst Park trip and early indications are that he may get that game - although that comes with the caveat that things can change.

It feels like a difficult compromise, especially given the overwhelming feeling that the manager's time should be up. But the new owners say they're working in a different way - talk of a process dominates conversations - and want the next move to be a good one that will be conducive to long-term success. There is an inkling that they're looking for some of real calibre to lead football operations but mid-season, it's not an easy call.

This doesn't add any confidence to the claims he's gone. It even references there's a good chance he'll be in charge at the weekend ffs.

This has dragged on far too fucking long, I’m on the side of calling this their first big mistake as owners. Obvs don’t want them out but it’s important to still question stuff they do. This has been a shit show so far

Calm down man, it's happening.
