Why worry about PSR we have 3 years and by then the ladies team will be in the top division worth mega bucks

Was just thinking this. If every other club can do such a dodgy move, we may as well before they close the loophole

We don't have three years. It's a rolling 3years so this year will be added to the last 2.

Well this has been quite the night  [emoji38]

If this goes though, i LOVE the trap we set for Chelsea. Let's bid for 2nd choice Joao Pedro, tempt them into buying, then buy the even better guy :frantic:

And having a 4231 with Ekitike + Isak taking it in turns to play behind the other, in some gorgeously fluid system, could prove very special.

We can be 4231, 442, 433, wing-backs..... wow.

And then they also have Alan Brazil belching last nights pilsner and poppadoms over the airwaves for several hours of the most mundane arse scratchery going.

You do know you can pick and choose your programs from it?

Newcastle United make £70m bid for Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike

Eddie Howe’s side targeting highly rated French forward, 23, who has £86million release clause, but sources at club say this is does not mean they are selling Alexander Isak

Newcastle United have made a bid of more than £70million for the Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.

The German club are expected to reject that offer, wanting closer to Ekitike’s release clause of £86million, but talks are continuing.

Sources at Newcastle insist that if the 23-year-old is signed it would not mean that Alexander Isak would definitely leave this summer, but the Frenchman’s arrival will clearly have significant financial implications for a club who only narrowly avoided a Profitability and Sustainability Rules points penalty last season.

Newcastle are believed to be offering Ekitike a substantial salary, while the club have already bought Anthony Elanga for £55million this summer, and are confident of signing the goalkeeper James Trafford from Burnley for a fee that could be as much as £30million. Liverpool are known to be admirers of Isak.

Newcastle want to increase their attacking options to cope with the four competitions, including the Champions League, that they will be playing in next season. William Osula, a 21-year-old Denmark Under-21 international, is at present the only alternative to Isak after Callum Wilson’s departure as a free agent.

The deal is being brokered by Ali Barat, an agent involved in the transfers of Moises Caicedo to Chelsea and Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid. Frankfurt’s sporting director, Markus Krösche, who was responsible for the sale of Omar Marmoush to Manchester City for £63million in January, has a reputation as a tough negotiator.

Ekitike scored 22 goals and claimed 12 assists in all competitions last season, helping the German club to qualify for the Champions League. He has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea in recent months.

Newcastle tried to sign Ekitike in both transfer windows in 2022. Instead he left Reims for Paris Saint-Germain, initially on loan. He struggled and joined Eintracht, initially on loan, in February 2024 before a permanent move for £14million last summer.

The Newcastle head coach, Eddie Howe, missed out on signing João Pedro, the forward who joined Chelsea this summer, but signed Elanga, the winger, who will compete with Jacob Murphy on the right wing while Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes play on the left flank.

People really get so worked up about missing out on a signing that they can't even bare to watch a video on a player we're linked with?!!!

I actually thought you lot were just messing about when you said that.

Man, that is just sad.

Cant imagine how miserable these summers must be for you! ;D

Yawnstein on SSN:

Working on it, no agreement, deal not close, no guarantee, actively exploring, significant expense, ~£75m but Frankfurt want more, unaware of personal terms being agreed. Nothing done yet.

1995 we bought Sir Les, Warren 'middle parting' Barton, Shaka and Daveed Ginola

2005 was the summer of Side Parting Scott Parker, the little racist Emre, Albert unluque, he who shall not be named and Tim Krul

2015 saw the Chancellor, Wijnaldum, Motto and Thauvin.

So basically we like a shopping spree when the year ends in a 5
