The Transfer Insiders is very good. Got some of the most knowledgeable journalists on the show. Similar to Trans Europe Express.

And then they also have Alan Brazil belching last nights pilsner and poppadoms over the airwaves for several hours of the most mundane arse scratchery going.

Wait......so does this mean that Vardy isn't interested in being our back up striker?

Vardy's going to Man Utd to be their main striker.

I think Joelinton is quite accomplished on the left of midfield too, both defensively and offensively. Sunderland away (attack) and Chelsea at home (I think it was) where he was almost playing left wing back.

It's a system which would make sense in a Simeone 442 model, who also uses a central midfielder out wide allowing for flexibility and fluidity of shape.

                 Ekitike Isak

Joelinton Tonali Bruno Elanga

Hall Botman Schar Livramento
                 Pope

Genuinely one of the best 11's in europe.

Agree about one of the best 11's in Europe

But that means 2 left wingers in Gordon/Barnes on the bench (squad depth and all that...) but they can't do what Joelinton does, and he misses roughly 1/3 of a season, so could this only be played with him fit?

Cant see us doing as well with a 2 man midfield, especially with how transition heavy football is now

Although he's a somewhat known quantity to us, this feels very much like an out of the blue Isak/Tonali type signing where the player has agreed terms and we're far down the road with the selling club before our rivals even have enough time to get their act together to hijack it.

Within about 4 hours he's gone from a pipe dream to 'all but done'

So am I right in thinking hes got a massive release clause? I wonder if weve essentially told them than we will reach that figure but are negotiating with add ons, installments etc in order to reach that figure.

I can see a scenario where we pay 65 up front and then the rest is split into extras.

I know Frankfurt don't need to accept anything other than the full release clause but its fairly common nowadays for clubs to essentially come to an agreement on payments etc.

The fact that his reps are in Austria talking to Eddie, very much suggests that we are confident of a fee being agreed.

Im sure our boys will have rolled out the red carpet too.

I'd propose it would be one for very specific games, away in the Champions League or at Anfield/Etihad for example where we concede possession. It's combative, high work-rate with a huge goal threat and Elanga to facilitate the quick transition.

Actually Laurens does say Newcastle, not London.

Did he say London originally? Anyway, he definitely now says Newcastle in both his tweet and espn article.

Don't be defeatist that this auto spells Isak being sold. Embrace the idea that this is us making a real statment of intent that we're pushing to win and challenge for the top places every season with our best players.

Hope you’re right but it’s unusual that I probably won’t be able to relax on it until the window closes.

The world revolves around Liverpool In their minds.  This has got absolutely nothing to do with them

Got their quota of hubcaps for the evening? It's a lot harder for them to make a living now most cars have alloys as it's challenging to save up enough to buy a jack and some bricks.

Look at what our Chairman said, no chance in a million years we will sell him this season and that's at a minimum

Eddie Howe's got three different work phones and a headset, handling all the different front office roles while yelling at the players to make their own space on the training pitch.

They've moved the S&C gym over, so maybe we've upped and left. Would also explain the lack of updates on the stadium and training ground.

I think the confusion here is according to the Downie video is they've met twice and there's been discussion over the last 4-5 days.

So both are probably right, it's just they happened at different times. So both Newcastle and Austria meetings probably happened.
