Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

I’m not saying I think this will happen, but I can see a world where we are asked if we are still interested in a few weeks, a la Isak, unless Frankfurt actually want to keep him. The bin dippers like him but don’t really want him or they’d have wrapped it up this week, for all their money they are charlatans and bs merchants. The club played a blinder walking away and not getting dragged into a saga.

I'm not sure Liverpool have the money until they've offloaded Diaz or Nunez.

I think Liverpool don't want to pay as much as they're asking for him. Don't think anyone wants to really. It's a huge fee.

Now Liverpool came in for Isak and put it out there that they'd be willing to pay £120 million, Frankfurt are going to be even tougher to negotiate with to bring that Ekitike fee down.

Aye what is happening here then, Liverpool have been preparing a bid for 4 days

Despite the narrative that we are slow, these things take time. Fully expect it to be agreed in the next week or so.

Could also be why we are apparently moving on to a CB next. See where everything stands in three weeks when our next transfer debacle happens and we have to move on from CBs for the time being and back to Strikers.

Think we probably would have ended up getting him cheaper. Price was always going to go up with Liverpool's 'power move' announcing they have £120m to spend on a striker.

It seems that football is to a massive degree now “controlled” by the TV companies who are providing the major income. They make their money from world wide audiences for matches. It is in their interests therefore that the clubs with the largest worldwide fan bases are the most successful and have the best players. Mike Ashley’s reign meant we lost the chance to be one of those clubs and it is hard to see how we ever can be with PSR and APT in place. We simply cannot compete on wages or fees with the Sky 6 aand this leads inevitably to this sort of situation with players like Isak.

It’s a shame that the TV companies don’t want another Leicester (however temporary), to break the cartel stranglehold of the prem and add some variety.

Personally, outside of our games, I found last season to be absolutely dreadful and I watched very few ‘other’ games.

So if they were getting Isak and Ekitike for 200m euros as someone said, that means Isak now costs 110m euros?

Just proves what a pile of shite 120m for our player is. 90m for Ekitike, while he may end up being worth that, is wild money for a player not remotely proven in this league. If he is truly worth that amount, don't even come to the table to discuss Isak without offering twice that. Cunts.

That's exactly it. They've set the market value with their deals for Wirtz and now Ekitike - two hugely talented players but totally unproven in the Premier League.

I think they'll probably end up being excellent for them (assuming Ekitike signs) but 200m for two players who haven't played a minute in the PL s quite the risk overall.
