                        Dubravka

Trippier      Schar         Lascelles      Ritchie

                            Shelvey

            Longstaff

Fraser                          Joelinton        ASM

                             Wood

As it stands for Saturday. Longstaff and Ritchie are particularly revolting.

God, that team is absolutely mingin' but what can you do?! Our squad is dogshit!

With Wood up front I think you've got to swap Fraser for Murphy. It's like swapping a ford Ka for Fiat Punto but at least Murphy can deliver a good ball 1 time out of 4. Fraser doesn't seem to offer a lot of anything.

Just play Dummett at left back.

This. If he’s fit he’s our best LB and improves the whole defence greatly. His return along with Willock’s form saved us last season.

As others have said potentially could go....

                 Dubravka

Murphy Lascelles Schar Trippier

                   Shelvey

          Willock       Joelinton

Fraser                           ASM

                   Wood

Or if we want to start defensive and try to nick goals on the counter.....

                   Dubravka

       Schar Lascelles Dummett

Trippier                              Almiron

        Willock Shelvey Joelinton

                       ASM

                      Wood

The 5-3-2 doesn't have to be defensive, it can be 3-5-2 in possession, you'd expect Trippier and Ritchie to have more licence to get forward and get those crosses in for Wood. The extra central defender should be able to cover the breaks from Watford. Far better than playing 4-4-2 with an ageing wide midfielder as a full back.

Just the team from the Man Utd game with Trippier and Wood added, surely?

Dubravka

Krafth > Trippier

Schar

Lascelles

Manquillo > Krafth

Longstaff

Shelvey

Joelinton

Fraser

Wilson > Wood

Saint-Maximin

Longstaff was awful against Cambridge, but Willock wasn't much better. I wouldn't even complain at Hendrick getting a start at the minute tbh.

No way Willock can play, lad looks like he’s been lobotomised.

He's no good in a 4-4-2 where he's expected to play more centrally, but in a 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 he would find more space to attack and get up in support of Wood. I suppose you could start with Longstaff and bring Willock on as a sub.
