I think we’ve just run out of steam a bit after a run of games in quick succession. The break will do us good. The amount of people who don't want to acknowledge this is staggering. Shearergol
I think if we had Trippier on the pitch he would have calmed our players down. As big a miss as Wilson really.
1964
Bruno touches the ball more than anyone, but he's like someone that dances round the ring but can't throw a pnunch

Or at least stop playing Krafth man. Actually thought Kraft was probably one of our better players today. Tried to get forward, was ok at the back. Others way worse. Gallowgate Toon
The worst thing about tonight (apart from conceding) was how pitiful we were at getting down the flanks all game. We built possession OK but then seemed to lack any penetration once the ball got out wide in the final third. Miggy's run was probably the best of the lot. The players will be hungry but some tough games coming up. Just shows you how fine the margins are. That win at Southampton looks vital now.
Whitley mag
Poor from Burn for the goal and got what we deserved. These things happen after a long unbeaten run, unfortunately it was against these squealing horrible bastards.

I think that might be true for our fantastic run since Christmas tbh. Might be a timely wake up call.

Agreed. Their shit fans created a toxic atmosphere from the get go that guided the game into more of a boxing match. We didnt deserve to lose, but Im not surprised at all as this wasnt really football
Numbers
5 minutes ago, Jordan said: We dont have anyone better than Wood as an option up front and we’re playing him as a target man when he’s not one. Look at his Burnley goals, he played off Barnes more on the shoulder of the defender. We’re not playing to his strengths which is making him look poorer than he is. Understand that but fuck me he can't even hold the ball up, make a simple pass, hes terrible.

You get what you deserve and we got what we deserved for being unbelievably complacent against a team scrapping for their lives. An already bad game made somehow even worse by a shocking referee. Pawson gave them the perfect fairytale like. Absolute fucking whoppa.
midds
Harsh as fuck that tonight, especially on the back of the bullshit at Chelsea. Thought we did ok, no better than that, looked comfortable for most of the game but got done again. 2 aways in a week. 2 mistakes, 2 goals conceded and 0 points. We deserved better but football's not like that.

Game was handed to us on a plate and couldn't even secure a point against ten men. Its a shocking result that, simply not good enough. It’s not an excuse but they look knackered and a bit out of sorts and need a break. To lose a goal at the end again isn’t good enough though.

I thought Everton were pretty good at doubling up on our wingers. Also Gordon on Bruno clearly worked too in blocking us in the middle and stopping Willock or Joelinton making 1-2 runs playing off him. Really needed a rethink in approach but it never happened. Sean
Burn has to take Iwobi out before their goal. Even better if he read the obvious feint and tackled him. Edited March 17, 2022 by Sean

Kid Icarus
I should have known we'd lose with Newcastle-Online's preferred midfield™️ I feel like that always happens, because despite what we might all think, we all know fuck all about football

In the last 15 gordon had the ball and krafth was sprinting backward backing off at 100mph, honestly one of the worst defenders i have seen. Agreed he’s poor but Gayle offers nothing in the PL and hes our only other choice. I can’t wait for Wilson to be back so Wood isn’t in the side anymore but until then he’s the best of a bad bunch and we could be helping him by stopping just hoofing constantly to him. AyeDubbleYoo
Gutting, but hard to read too much into it. The game was chaos with no real football played. We can’t keep possession so we’ll continue to be vulnerable to these kind of games.
