Bowen, Paqueta, Fullkrug, Wan-Bissaka, Walker-Peters. Sunderland could only dream to have half a team like that, and these will finish mid-table at best. I'd be surprised if West Ham don't win by 2 or more.

You’re not the best of predictors, are you mate?

(Just a bit of banter before you’s all fume). ;)

Ironic that his name is SAFC- L because thats exactly what will happen for most of the season.

Bless the little fellas celebrating their first top flight win in 8 years. I'll be really thinking about that when I hear our CL theme tune.

Great win today. Can I just ask why you've signed up to comment on a Newcastle forum about half an hour after your first Premier League win in over 8 years?

Have a beer, cup of tea. Wank off. Anything but this.

Yes - a very good start. Promoted teams often do. It won’t last.

In the last 3 seasons promoted teams are 1-1-6 in the opener. The win being Sunderlands win. Leicester drew against Spurs last season, but Spurs finished 17th.

 Nor is it for them

I know it’s not - but I’ve argued with many good mates who were happy for them to get promoted so we could get an “easy six points”.

Fair play to them tbh, they made a lot of signings from abroad, and that has probably changed the club culture from "Brexit and Proud" to something a bit more modern, and it's long overdue. Their manager probably has a lot to do with it.

Obviously I still hope they get battered every week from now on, but credit where it's due.

Be sure to stick around when you start getting scudded every week.

To think I actually thought Potter would do well at West Ham.

What a way to start the season man. Absolutely criminal [emoji38]

Just imagine how West Ham fans will be feeling already. Just brutal.

That will be him done at the top level if they stink it up.

The lad on the right Diarra looks a very good player. I think they’ll surprise a few this season unfortunately.

Seemed head and shoulders, how much did he cost? Be gone in 12 months if he keeps that up.

Cracking start for them today, can't deny it. They're still riding a bit of wave, spent about £150m and twatted West Ham on opening day in the sun. Of course they're going to enjoy it, they're off the mark and today was a 6 pointer for them. The novelty and momentum will wear off eventually and they'll tumble down the league in time but they've clearly got a decent chance of staying up. The key for them will be the research that other teams will start doing on them now. Last season they also started really well, got points on the board early and the second half of their season was chalk and cheese - multiply that by 10 this season. They'll get found out, it'll happen:)

The "I miss the derbies me" folk must be buzzing

Myself I cant be doing with the contradictary fusion of self annointing big club stuff with exceptionally small-time gloating about the slightest things that a big club just wouldn't.

First time they've been ahead of us for 417weeks and they'll make hay of it because of how rare it is yet not understand what that says about them.

Easy six points for us apparently. They'll go straight back down apparently. They'll be worse than Southampton apparently.

Some shite been talked about them on here. They've spent a good amount, they set up to play on the break which suits a bottom half team in the PL and they've improved their squad and team. Every chance of staying up, every chance of taking points from us just like league one Luton did a few years ago. Anyone who wanted them up is a fool.
