Manchester City 5-0 Newcastle United (08/05/2022)

It could be a blessing in disguise because it's obviously clear we need a lot of reinforcements to be where we want to be, but even from Eddie's perspective, if we did finish 9th or 10th then if we finished 9th or 10th next season, there could be a few on his back expecting a top 6th challenge, whereas if we finish 12th-14th, then 9th or so next season will be progress.

I like Eddie enough not be swayed at all by how these last 3 or 4 matches go, but it could have just been papering over the cracks had we ended strongly, because realistically, there's still a lot of bang average bottom half / relegation battling players in this team.

Watch it again. He was standing with him at one point, he just didn’t move with him when Cancelo made his run. He totally switched off.

Yeah but the attacker always has an edge on those due to reaction times. Cutting off the pass before it hits Cancelo's head is pretty much impossible. Just a good goal and the fault lies more with not pressuring the passer who played it to Cancelo IMO.

Maybe. Maybe it was @Beth

is anyone else useless?

I think you have to use perspective.  For the hype and money we paid for Almiron I have honestly seen little return.  Believe it or not, I hate slagging off any of our players.
