joeyt
Incredible save. Must have only seen it at the last minute too with two bodies in the way
Pilko
Hell of a save. So impressive how he keeps his concentration when he's usually fairly underemployed.
gbandit
One of the best saves made by an NUFC keeper in years, when was the last save that was as good as that?

Geordie Ahmed
That save was ridiculous, ensured we at least got a point, which considering the other results isn't a bad one.
Newcastle Fan
What a fucking save that was, considering he barley have to make any saves with our insanely good defense it was even more impressive.

Ben
Is Pope our best ever keeper ? Crazy to say but he's so good it's crazy, Given, Burridge, Mcfaul, and thats basically it

Kid Icarus
Very difficult to compare Pope's 6 months with Given's decade. What I will say is I never saw Given or any other 'keeper for us have a 6 months this good. Edited January 21, 2023 by Kid Icarus
IzzyIsak
Given could never come for crosses and demand his box, people get carried away with his shot stopping, a keeper that comes for crosses eliminates goals conceded from corners etc. Given's kicking was also shite. Don't get me wrong, he was a good keeper, but Pope's better tbh. Edited January 21, 2023 by IzzyIsak

He also played with the likes of Bramble and Boumsong. Pope is playing in arguably our best ever defence in my lifetime. I am 34. Will have to be solid for a couple more seasons or win a trophy before he eclipses Shay Given for me.
AyeDubbleYoo
In my lifetime we’ve never had a keeper who could be considered in the top 4 or 5 in the league or higher. And you’d be confident he could start for almost any club as well as England. Think Pope has to be the best.

Still would pick Pickford ahead of Pope. He has that big game experience and is better with his feet suiting England's style. In addition, I don't think Pope would cope with the extra pressure being England's number one as shown from the last friendly.
