Joke of an offer, if it’s 60 now and 60 later…that’s a blatant piss-take. Who the fuck do they think they are?

Clearly we should be honoured that a team as great as Liverpool wants to buy one of our players. I reckon we should just hand him over for free actually.

I'm beginning to think what we gain in pride and appearances by keeping him doesn't outweigh the dark cloud that will loom over the club as a result of his unresolved situation and his general presence around the place. I can't see a reality where he plays for us again, even if he remains under contract. I would much rather we have a striker in the team at Villa Park in two weeks and clarity and closure on this whole situation so we can move forward. At the moment we have none of those things and are stuck in a state of stasis and inertia. Ideally we would go out and sign two strikers anyway with the knowledge that money for Isak is coming either now or over the next 12 months, but it seems unlikely as the word is that we're lining up a replacement only in the event of him leaving.

The longer he is here, the more distracting and potentially poisonous it will become. We've been bullied by the bigger club in Liverpool which has been facilitated in large part by Isak and his representatives. Take the ego hit and move on so we can start looking after our prime concern which is Newcastle United and putting together a competitive squad.

Suarez was ready to sue Liverpool and the Premier League two weeks before the season he scored 31 league goals and almost single handily dragged a shitty team to the title.

He will easily be reintegrated if Liverpool play games and/or Yasir decides he doesn't like the price

Obviously way better than us.

We pissed on them in the Carabao final, remember. If nothing else, this should be a wakeup to anyone with Liverpool sympathies or who buy into that "noble club" bull rap.

Thanks for the nostalgia.

And every stop I make, I make a new friend.

Just down the road, I'll tag along, that's hobo style.

And if you wanna join me....etc

Used to be my alarm wake up tune.

We’ve seen teams jack prices up to £50m+ for players who are in their final year of contract and aren’t close to Isak’s ability. Come back with an offer of £200m and we won’t tell you to immediately fuck off, you pathetic cheap chancers

There’s no realistic way Isak leaves unless we bring in at least two strikers — never mind the need for another midfielder or centre-back. Why would we make ourselves weaker and kill our season before its started.

I’m pleased the club rejected that derisory offer, but to be honest, it’s time they took control of the narrative. For too long, Liverpool and Isak’s agent have been allowed to shape the story to suit themselves. The club should seriously consider making a clear, public statement.

It’s simple: if they want him, it starts at £150 million — or don’t bother calling. I still believe there’s every chance of a bidding war next summer, which could easily fetch us £120–130 million if it comes to that. Those chancers probably know and that’s why they’re trying to get it done now.  But right now, Newcastle need to stand firm and put the pressure back on both Liverpool and Isak. Enough is enough.

If PSR weren't a thing we'd be more able to sign a replacement at the wage required.

Pyramid Scheme Rules more like, funnelling everything upwards.

If PSR wasnt a thing we could do a "Liverpool Coutinho" thing. However we could get 250m and still not improve given our ability/pace/incapability of working on more than 1 deal at once in the transfer market.

Perhaps you're right, and indeed I see the merit in not caving to Liverpool's tactics and I also acknowledge the 'optics' of us simply refusing to sell under these conditions and holding firm would be good and send a strong message. I get it all, I'm just fed up with the whole thing and want him gone.

Newcastle will be fine in the long run if he stays, continues to act a cunt and moves on in 12 months, and we will be fine in the long run if he leaves now. It's not going to define the whole trajectory of the club, so I'd rather the saga was done.

Don't get why people are so keen for him to go. We cannot allow him to go to Liverpool,  they have treated the club with zero respect. Newcastle will also suffer more as we would have to rush to find a replacement. Lessing Alex could totally change how we play depending on who we could get in. We need a season to properly put on a succession plan

Problem is that I think there are other concerns as well besides the risk of toxic atmosphere in the club. We have done nothing wrong, but I think players in general are not very keen on signing long contracts, and then watching us refusing to let players go even if top clubs break the banks for them probably stirs an icky feeling inside of their heads when it comes to signing for us, especially long contracts.
