Given where we are without some of our big hitters, if we can stay there or thereabouts in the table by the time of the WC, we’ll be in a cracking place to have fully fit and rested top players to come back for the push in 2023. Maybe that’s a bit naively optimistic mind

I’m very frustrated and alarmed by this.

Same, seems to be soft tissue injuries almost every week but at the same time we only have 6 games before the World Cup, 2 of them are within this next 7 days. Wilson just has to stay fit for these league games, canny ridiculous we're still having to say this though tbph.

Fuck sake, man. Hopefully Wilson's muscles don't implode within the next 6 games then.

No chance he'll last six games. Wouldn't surprised me if he already injured himself today

Thigh injuries can be extremely annoying like, I had one that persisted for about a year when I was younger, there's a psychological element that comes with it too as you tend to not feel it at all until you suddenly tweak it when striking the ball... every time you go to shoot you expect it to pop again.

World Cup will be a blessing in disguise for us. A well needed rest for most of our squad and for the top 6 a nerve jangling horror show of injuries and fatigue for all their international players.

Thankfully we'll probably only need to be concerned with Trippier, Bruno and Schar. None of them are guaranteed starters either which lessens the blow somewhat.

You do realise players getting injuries usually isn’t down to the medical team?

Think we've had several players have setbacks in their recoveries though.

Fair enough to ask if there's something that needs to be looked at in terms of the training programs these players are being given as they try to get back to being ready to play after being injured.
