What?

You think they want him out and would need to engineer it? If they wanted him out they would show him the door.

nah you need “results” to justify the sacking. Of course they need to engineer it. You may call it too remote but look at Mitchell.

When you own something you don't need anything. You do as you please.

This is the Saudis we are talking about here, they literally rounded up the royal family a few years back.

Spoiler

So, where does Newcastle’s transfer business stand?

Although the frustration of supporters is shared internally, there is no sense of panic — which is unlikely to pacify fans understandably impatient for additions following three successive windows without a first-XI signing.

Howe is restless for additions, too, and would prefer to be welcoming new players for pre-season training when it begins on Monday. The expectation inside Newcastle is that the market will heat up once players return to their clubs for pre-season — and the hope is that an initial signing with generate momentum for others to follow.

A goalkeeper, centre-back, right-winger and versatile forward are still wanted.

James Trafford is the top goalkeeper target and, while talks continue with Burnley, Newcastle are yet to reach a fee, even if those around the deal have always presented a confidence it will get done.

At right wing, Newcastle never strongly pursued Antoine Semenyo due to his valuation, even before the Ghana forward signed a contract extension at Bournemouth. Their interest in Elanga remains, however, following an initial £45m bid being rejected.

Guehi is still on their wanted list, too, although there are alternative centre-back options. Where Newcastle turn next, if anywhere at all, in their hunt for a forward is unclear.

A first senior signing would help everyone, inside and outside of the club, settle down. There is internal confidence it will come — even if Newcastle are operating without a sporting director following Mitchell’s exit on Monday — but, until it does, supporter apprehension will only grow.

Athletic.

If, a big if, we really signed no one this summer, then sorry I genuinely suspect there is an hidden agenda behind the scene that PIF wants Howe out.

1. Why would they want Howe out?  And 2. Why are you thinking we won’t sign any one? We’ve bid for 3 players. Mbeumo & Pedro chose other clubs that’s not some PIF hidden agenda.

Sitting on the 3rd of July thinking we won’t sign anyone is just weirdly overly negative

Why the fuck would they want him out? Hes just won the first trophy in 70 years, qualified for the CL again and we’ve barely brought a new first 11 player in in the last 3 windows. Hes successful without even spending fortunes.

While everyone’s been napping he’s Zero’ed in on the truth and made us all look like chumps. PIF want Howe out and will stop at nothing to get him out. Wouldn’t be surprised to see us sigh Ryan Fraser and for Howe to be forced to make him captain. Makes me sick

Why the fuck would they want Howe out, I reckon he'll be first choice on any EPL clubs list if they sack a manager this season and he'll be favourite for the England job if the Jarman messes up next summer.

I love how there are different stages of heating up in the market and still nothing happens [emoji38] as for possibly not going for a new forward, you could pretty much write the season off before its begun if that happens.

Bearing in mind them buying Newcastle is equivalent to me buying a Kit Kat, they might have just moved on to newer projects and let us be. This transfer window will tell for me.

The reason they can buy so many, ahem…, types of confectionary is because they choose carefully, look after them, and want maximum enjoyment. I mean, if you left  your Kit Kat  on the windowsill in this weather, you wouldn’t get anywhere near as much enjoyment out of having it.

But if you popped it in the fridge to savour it with a nice freshly ground coffee…….
