I'm convinced the reason we haven't bought a CB yet is that we'll go back in for Marc Guehi.

Ive thought that for a while. Go back in with £40 million bid.

Fulham return more than likely.

Can't see him going back there as he'll be on a much higher wage bracket now. We were only pushing because he was on a free, would be too expensive now given Chelsea will be looking for £20-30m.

Same, just hope we dont leave it too late again, if the deal doesn’t happen.

I actually rate him, I just think it’s a disgusting bit of business. You can say we did the same with Kelly but I genuinely think he was brought in with the intention for him to be a versatile squad player for us and we realised that the offer was too good to ignore. We weren’t trying to bin him off in this way.

Any club bailing Chelsea and Tosin out here needs their head kicked in

Unfortunately qualifying for the CL+ the CWC has put them on pretty firm footing again. My dream of them imploding is certainly paused, if not outright dead.

It’s can kicking as they still have £1.5bn to keep booking. Can’t sell off women’s team / hotels again, so if clubs stop giving them profits they’re fucked. But here we are them turning a profit on Maduke. Probably get a strong booking value from Tosin / Chalobah. After countless HG last two seasons. Jackson would be a proper piss take if they get a big fee for him, someone that clearly has no path into the side now.

But other Prem clubs are thick as shit twats, who will buy out of fear they miss out on that player to someone else, rather than call Chelsea’s bluff and wait till final day and say “here’s £15m or you’ve got him in your u21s till Jan, where we will offer same again”. It’s not like they can loan them all out either as there’s only limited spots.

Feel people are being a bit unfair with Tosin.

Moving from Fulham to Chelsea, doesn't require uprooting everything in your life to accommodate.

Was the most convenient move he could have made from that perspective.

Not when he would have played here, and sat on the bench at Chelsea!

I wish him all the best at West Ham.

I really don't get why anyone would choose chelsea over anyone as it stands. Money aside (players can get good wages at many clubs), you would have to battle with 20 gazillion other players they've bought that play in your position, which will only increase season on season. If I were gifted with the ability to play top flight football I would want to actually, you know, play top flight football. All players going there are doing is getting paid to maybe make their bench. The u21's can only field a certain number of players over that age (unless they've change the rules) so all they are doing is getting paid to train, and their manager pretty much split the players so he only had to work with a hundred or so of their players and the rest would have to train somewhere else didn't he?  Yeah, the money is nice, but there's a certain point where it just becomes meaningless.

I agree but....

London, club wins things so in turn your "part of it". Arrogance from the player they are so good they will force their way into managers plans. Fixed income for 6 or 7 years meaning no drop off in what you earn despite how you perform. Some players its a job not what they love so what I described above is good enough.

Patience? He's been piss poor since the season we first qualified for champions league.

He was injured and then out of the team. Hardly had a chance to show his form either way. Hopefully he proves his worth before Janaury. Was still our best player at carrying the ball up the pitch at pace with strength when he was picked.

I think it they want 40 or 45m liverpool must be fairly certain he's theirs for free next summer so why spend.

I’d be delighted if we could get him for that price, although I agree, he will go to Liverpool for free.
