Dr.Spaceman
I'd take quality CB cover over Marc Cucurella tbh. Guy's a "Steady Eddie", he's got 3 assists in 2 seasons, probably won't let you down but won't be putting it on a plate that often. That Miggy goal in pre-season is fresh in the mind too, what the hell was he doing

If he does then that's quite concerning, I think I'd prefer a backup RCB in that case. The thing is though, we play with a very high centre back line to help our press, and ideally if you play with that high of a line your full backs need to be quick to cover. Look how many team’s concentrate on our left side because of how slow BDB is, in an ideal world we would get both a left back and a right centre back but to me the way we play a left back is more important. Shadow Puppets
RCB is definitely the priority in my mind. I like Burn, Targett is decent, and Trips and Tino can play there if necessary. If Schar is injured, the fall to Lascelles is huge.
James
After Saturday, any chance of the likes of Arsenal or Chelsea thinking we are a good choice to loan a player to is no longer zero - it’s negative.
vicente_14
I think we will try to get a pacey and strong left back in, and move Targett out late in the window. Theo is the dream but unless we can be creative as Eddie suggests we need to be, loan with obligation next year, that remains a dream. Targett left Villa for us because he wanted to play, so not the craziest idea to imagine he will want to be playing more reguarly.

More than doubled his wage moving to us I believe, probably not just playing time as a factor. So not quite so easy to move on I guess.
McCormick
Also no point Ffp-wise to move him on so soon (at probably a loss as well).

Jesse Pinkman
Seen Marc Cucurella play a few times. He is a ball watching merchant. Constantly gets sucked out of position whilst the winger has fields of space behind him. Would be an awful signing.

Admittedly it seems very high for Targett, but all the reputable salary sites (which granted should never be taken as gospel) are reporting around the 100k mark. Yeah I’ve seen these sites touting these figures as well. I just don’t buy it, we weren’t overly keen to buy him at the time so I’m not sure we would have put him amongst our top earners. BeloEmre
Why would we pay Matt Targett £100,000 a week? Seems totally unrealistic.
Thumbheed
If I had to choose I'd probably go for a left back based on the general quality of opposition in that area of the pitch.

He’ll of been on a decent whack at Villa as they’ve signed him from another PL club in Southampton. It’s a kind of assumed that if you move between PL clubs you get a pay rise, and he’s had two moves. Don’t disagree that 100k seems very high, but if it’s accurate, that’ll be the reason why. Mike
Are we seriously not gonna sign Kyle Walker-Peters.
Ginola
Tierney wouls be a decent addition if he stays fit, Cucurella is gash. I don't think we'll get either of them anyway but do think we'll bring in another CB, which is a bigger priority imo
alexf
Not to forget when we initially signed Targett on loan (assume salary stays same when made permanent) we were pretty desperate, so I can totally believe us giving out 100k salaries at that time. LFEE
Still think RCB priority and Livramento will play LB in certain games depending on opposition.
