You know you're a Newcastle fan when you end up celebrating that our new 55m striker being out for "only" 5 weeks before even playing a game, and our most important defender "only" being out for 6-8 weeks. Bad luck instead of terrible luck feels great.

As long as Hall can get up to speed then its not the end of the world.  Just pray to the pantheon of gods that Eddie doesnt see BDB as a viable leftback option again as hes a cracking CB now but not a leftback.

Hope we can make this 5 at the back thing work at some point.. Our squad is set up so that it's convenient to play the formation, it's just not working that well yet. Whether we like it or not, there will be more games where we have to choose between that and starting Willock (or Burn at left back) etc.

Feels Burnley at home should be targeted date for his start. With spurs off the bench midweek before it. Wouldn’t want to push it earlier as the guy needs a break after being non-stop for ages. 
 

Murphy RB should be back up to Trips, and give people reassurance he can be a back up RB next season.

Palace play the 3-4-2-1/3-4-3 that we try.  They look brilliant at it.  We however, do not  

 

I'm sure quite a few teams would switch to that last season with varying degrees of success.  I think I posted about it in the tactics thread.  As it seemed in vogue for a while and it was being used more often.  Man U play it.......   Forest were switching to it and it worked well a lot of the time.  I think Chelsea, too.
