The press are still saying they have agreed a deal 'in principle' - can someone explain to me what that means? :burn2:

It means they have agreed a deal but the transaction has not been completed. Have you ever bought a house? If so you get an offer in principle from the lender. It becomes a mortgage when you complete.

Major points agreed in a non-binding way, subject to full and binding written agreement.

At least it looks more and more likely that Isak is forced to stay for one more season. We still need a Wilson replacement, so let's spend 40-50 million on a decent one.

Vangelis Pavlidis 26 of Benfica (40 ish million)

Samu 21 of Porto (50 ish million)

Clayton 26 of Rio Ave (10 ish million)

Jonathan Burkardt 25 of Frankfurt (40 ish million)

Kalimeundo 23 of Rennes (30 ish million)

Emmanuel Emegha 22 of Strasbourg (30 ish million)

Moise Keane 25 of Fiorentina (40 ish million)

Riccardo Orsolini 28 of Bologna (30 ish million).

Plenty of strikers out there, that's just a handful I picked out.

Wage structure. Nobody gets that now except Bruno Fernandes.

Look at all the signings under INEOS:

De Ligt - £195k

Cunha - £180k

Mbeumo - £150k

Mazraoui - £120k

Ugarte - £120k

Yoro - £115k

Zirkzee - £105k

Sesko would be somewhere in the middle.

Stop using Capology.

Weve been taken for mugs again by a player and agent. RB Leipzig have made themselves look like total dickheads.

Seriously something dodgy afoot on this one....never ever seen a club choose a lower offer. Was Sesko banging one of Leipzigs boards daughter.or something

But their offer was within the error margin of ours, so if the player said he would prefer Man Utd they would barely be losing out.

Error margins? Football isnt played on an excel chart... We offerred more.up front guaranteed. Man U offered slightly more in extras.which there is no guarantee theyll meet. I dont know the specifics of the extras, but id be happy to bet they are unlikely to meet them

Probably 1m for winning Ballon dOr

1m for winning the league

0.5 for European qualification

1m for getting through a season without being called a waste of money by Big Jim

If he goes there it’s not because of the reputation of the club or the manager and he hasn’t been impressed by ‘the project’. It’s because of the wages.

Which is fine btw, it’s the reason most footballers choose one club over another.

He always wanted to play for them as opposed to us, it was obvious a couple of weeks ago. We were just a convenient distraction to maximise his fee, wage and signing on fee. He was never signing for us

The major details have been agreed. The only remaining negotiables aren’t deal breakers maybe squad number, details on particular bonuses to finalise but not the big major things like salary, important  bonuses etc.

Not a single person has answered.why Leipzig accepted less money...

Just cos Sesko "only wants Man U" doesnt mean they have to accept a bid in the same vein as Isak "only wants Liverpool"

The player is irrelevant here, but theres something really off about this

Sure it's already been posted, but apparently Only Wanted Man Utd

Clearly true in this case between the suitors Man U and Newcastle but it’s the way that they use it to suggest that was the only club they’d have gone to. It’s fucking propaganda and clear that they’ve started including it as a backhander. Whole thing is grotesque

Because there was £5m difference and Man United still met what Leipzig agreed with Sesko they'd sell him for.

We've been well and truly done here like. Usually the agent/player/club (and nowadays journos on the books) use competing clubs to drive up the fee and wages.

In this case, they've accepted less on the fee and wages (reportedly, not sure I believe it) to go to Man Fucking U.

At some point, rightly or wrongly, a general perspective may form that NUFC is an unattractive destination. The media are currently seemingly helping push this agenda. It's wank really.

As usual, we need a strong year on the grass to keep proving (to others) why Newcastle with Eddie at the front is a team on the ascendancy. I back him regardless of this transfer window.
