Haven't Romano etc. been reporting that personal terms are no issue to either club? To me that reads like you'll offer him what he wants.

Yea, but if we offer same wages now, then with your UCL-rule it means he will get 25 % more should you get there, right? :)

As I've been saying, on the current trajectory no. We need a lot more from the commercial side/ownership.

To be fair, our commercial revenue has jumped enormously since the takeover. Its just that we started with a ridiculously low figure it is always going to take years to properly dent the gap.

I disagree, if the policy isn't realistic then it is embarrassing imo.

I get the idea of trying to make this but splash like we've arrived but the reality is the second a cartel member is interested we end up being second fiddle.

Let's see how this all works out.

Disregarding targets whose valuations we can actually meet - because a cartel club might gazump us - would be lunacy imo, and incredibly wet behaviour. If there was only five minutes left of the window it would be an extremely dicey approach, because the risk of losing out is abundantly clear, but with weeks left to do business I don't see the problem in taking a shot at the best targets. That's what we need to guarantee we stay where we are/progress.

I still believe.

Makes no sense though. We reached an agreement with the player means he's happy with the terms. And we're offering more (and more upfront) than the Mancs? He should be on a jet right now for his medical.

Just like when Chelsea first went in for Joao Pedro, I am 95% sure we will come out of this empty handed with egg on our faces.

The car crash of a window continues...

It doesn't matter, all that matters is the difference between our revenue and the other cartel clubs. If this gap isn't decreasing our rate of growth is irrelevant.

Our commercial revenue was lower in 2021 than it was in 2007 - NUFC’s club shop paying the club rather than Sports Direct would have seen it increase.

How you can agree to join 2 different clubs?

What do we think? Full verbal agreement with both clubs but somehow agreed to way less with Newcastle?

You'll be offering the same as us.

I'm actually quite touched that you're being sympathetic to us here.

Fair play to the club though. Despite the windows failures they’ve gone for a really ambitious target here. If we get pipped again it’s going to hurt but I can’t fault the effort compared the mess that occurred in the beginning of the window.

Obviously this is a coping mechanism.
