Ekitike and Sesko are obvious ones who look capable and are looking (looked) to move, hence the fee, otherwise you have Watkins and Wissa in the prem. It feels like a like-for-like for Pope but with more years in him, maybe just an extension of what we have, giving us extra time to find a replacement for our Trafford type target. Like saying Wissa isn’t as good as Isak so we shouldn’t sign him. If we only ever try to sign players that are guaranteed starters, we’ll sign even less players than we are now. Depth mate, the goalkeeping department has been hanging out for a fresh face for a good 12 months now, and with potentially 60+ odd games this season they need blokes to stay back to organise the Christmas piss-up.
