While it's not exciting in any way, I do think it's not a bad deal to be honest and actually pretty sensible, he challenges Pope more than Dubs does, he's better then Pope in certain aspects and if he does well enough we can make it permanent, if not we shake hands and we get a proper upgrade on Pope next summer.

Of all the positions to use up a loan on its a keeper when we already have a pile on the books reportedly on 120k a week I really don't get it.

That's only home league loans, we can loan the bollocks out of the rest of the world.

It's clearly a deferment of funds for when Pope's contract runs out and Ramsdale steps in his place, he's only our number 1 until we find our Trafford replacement, I don't know why everyone is hating this so much.

Dubravka is going. I thinks it’s pretty clear we have a gentleman’s agreement that he can go after staying on last season.

Don’t understand this one at all. Need at least 1 striker as highest priority, then a CB and a CM before we go for a goalkeeper imo. Trafford made sense as he was one for the future but I just really don’t see what Ramsdale brings that we don’t already have.

He seems like an all-around good character. He was once a very promising prospect before regressing due to lack of confidence and the inability to iron out specific deficiencies in his game.

Seems like the exact sort of player you'd want to unleash Eddie Howe on. They've worked together before too.

Sure he used to be quite popular with the Arsenal fans before Raya finally got the nod. Was quite a split who they wanted

If he was the 6th and last signing of the summer after we had spent millions strengthening the other positions we need then I reckon everyone would be fairly happy with it,  but because of how fucked up everything else has been everybody is irritable as fuck

Ben Jacobs saying the loan fee is £4m.

I don't know if I'd class that as "substantial" like, it feels like that's just the going rate for a Premier League loan these days

I would assume this is the first of several dominoes to fall. Presumably we’re loaning a GK rather than buying (now we can’t get Trafford), and then focusing spend elsewhere.

Whatever, he’ll have my full backing. Hopefully he pushes on and becomes a top quality keeper. He’s obviously good right now and at 27 he’ll improve further. Can’t get excited but I’m sure it’ll prove to be decent business

I hope he does really well, I certainly think it won't take much for him to endear himself to the fans. Seems the kind of character we'd really get behind at St James' and undoubtedly his footwork is decent which is what many have been crying out for.

I think the concentration stuff is probably overblown as well tbh.
