No beef at all with signing Ramsdale on loan. Pope will get injured again and Dúbravka is an unknown quantity at this point; last season was probably an Indian summer, you'd think. He was a disaster in 23/24 and we can't have him playing Champions League games again.

Shame about Trafford but the cartel fucked that for us (don't respond). A good goalie who Howe trusts and costs next to nowt is a good backup to have.

Elanga, Ramsdale, Gallagher and Wilson's replacement and we're getting somewhere. Replacing Isak, who knows how that goes.

We’re not signing Gallagher

No strong feelings either way on this one. I wasn't fussed about Pope when he signed and that turned out to be a good piece of business.

At the very least the £4m loan fee is a £20-25m saving on Trafford which will hopefully allow us to sign one of our top targets sooner rather than later.

After my initial feelings, I don’t actually think this is a bad deal. Loan with an option, £4m fee they reckon, not bad. If he’s shite then we go again next summer when we have a capable recruitment team, if he’s class then happy days.

Pointless slating the lad, should be getting behind him.

Now I’ve had time to reflect on this, despite my initial reaction being one of disappointment, I actually quite like it.

Makes commercial sense. Saves budget for other positions. Kicks the can down the road for the next few years until we find the next top keeper worth splashing big dollar on.

Him and Pope will know each other and push each other and allows us to clear out Dubs and the Greek.

It’s a yes from me this move now.

Do we reckon he sits on the bench until Pope gets injured/ out of form or do we reckon Eddie sees him as our first choice keeper straight away?

I'd expect Pope to start at Villa Park, Ramsdale to get his first start in a cup game of some kind & depending how Pope has performed up to then & how Ramsdale does when he plays, he might take over as #1 after that.

Think it’s decent and also shows a nice quick pivot after we missed out on Trafford. Helped by the fact Eddie probably has his personal phone number and didn’t need the actual recruitment team to make it happen

Have always rated him quite highly although admittedly was concerned about that thing he said about concentration. Ultimately he’s a good keeper.
