Two decent/good seasons at Arsenal but always been cannon fodder other than that spell at the likes of Sheff Utd, Bournemouth & Southampton. I think he'll be a good signing and would give him the number 1 shirt.

Solid addition all things considered. Get shot of Dubs and we’ve upgraded. Looks like he could be a big asset with his distribution if he gets his form back.

Underwhelming, but we're gasping for a keeper. He brings decent experience and raises the floor of the squad, plus it's a loan so if he's shite we can send him packing.

How much is that loan fee? Aren’t they lost to PSR so generally not advisable?

He is better than Pope imo. His distribution isn't great which is why Arsenal replaced him with Raya

We are often determined to get long term signings that are top targets to avoid wasting money. I think overall this is the right policy but I also think this inflexibility is taken to extremes and means that we let the pursuit of perfect be the enemy of good (enough).

 

This is quick a pivot away from this strategy and I don't mind it. It's a pricey loan fee, and a high wage player in to raise the floor ahead of a grueling CL campaign where our #1 is injury prone and our backup is approaching 37. 

 

I think it'll end up looking like a shrewd move - particularly if we now secure other players in key positions.

But I've seen a few videos on twitter that suggest otherwise? His passing into midfield looked great
