Given how many dominoes need to fall for Yoann Wissa to move here, I'm starting to think Jackson is the premium alternative we're considering. 

 

He presses like mad, he can technically can play on either wing, and he's more likely to run beyond the defensive line than drop deep to link up play. We're pitching him as an Isak replacement, but it makes no sense to sign him and Wissa in the same window. Both like to run beyond over dropping into the pocket and linking up play and both will be absent for the AFCON.

Af this point I could see the price coming down enough that we go for him instead of Wissa. Chelsea have enough money that they don’t really need to haggle that hard and clearly they just want him out of the building.

Beginning to agree with this. Although unless there's other clubs about to move on Jackson, we can probably afford to wait on Wissa a bit longer given he's the finished product and will give us guaranteed goals more or less.

Is our interest in Jackson confirmed or is he just reported to be ”on our short list”? I think he could be a decent signing as a replacement for Wilson. Sure, not really a goal scorer but he’s got some qualities and young, will become better. Eddie Howe, etc

Can’t imagine there’d be a huge amount of difference in the fees?

 

Although getting what they can for Watkins now and replacing him with someone with resale value is possibly a sensible PSR move.

 

Would go down like a shit sandwich with the support I would have thought though.
