That's the bit I don't get. He plays predominantly down the left, which doesn't strike you as an area of immediate concern.

Seeing as Barnes and Gordon are our new pair of strikers, you couldn't be more wrong.

Not much to add to everything that's been said above.

On paper I reckon @brummie's lot have got the better if this deal, but I'm not going to complain about us signing a decent player in a position we needed cover.

As others have said, the key will be if he stays fit and how his hamstrings stand up to our style of play.

'Foot injury' and 'metatarsal fracture' refer to the same injury.

Some Portuguese scrote stamped on his foot at the U21 Euros and broke it for him. He made a come back but was then out with it again.

It's not like he's crippled by a recurrent injury, but it is enough to make you wince sometimes when he goes into a tackle.

Willock is done at least in the short term, mentally the injuries have ruined him just as much as physically. He plays like he doesn't trust his body anymore. We can't be relying on him in any way.

fwiw, he's featured in a lot of villa fans predicted lineups for the game against us. so he's obviously fit and ready to go.

PSR is absolutely wank isn't it? having to sell your homegrown players for "pure profit"... I feel for the genuine Villa fans who care about Ramsey, similar situation to us and Anderson. the game is fucked.

Don't understand Eddie's fascination with players like these.

I bet we'll all be sitting here, moaning when we're 1-0 down at home to the likes of Fulham/Brighton next season and struggling to break them down.

We're crying out for something different, a bit of guile and creativity. Jacob Ramsey is not it.

they're absolutely gutted over on Villa Talk. always a good sign!

Someone also said this on villa talk so not convinced on some opinions

Yep, given the money they've spent their overall squad is quite poor.

Some of the signings they've made remind of MON's time here.

Targett: £15 million

Barnes: £38 million

Liveramento: £35 million

Hall: £28 million

The 2020's equivalent to signing Reo-Coker for £8 million in 2007 or signing Warnock, Dunne and Collins for a combined £20 million plus in 2009.

From the highlights it seems he has a decent shot in him. Could be nice to have against a low-block.

I’ll give them Targett but the rest are outstanding successes. Get tae fuck.

Much stronger, tougher and more tenacious than Willock, which will be very welcome. Willock is just too flimsy for me.

Ideally would love to see us also bring in Khannous, and look to move Willock on when he's fit, but think this will be unlikely.

Ramsey will be a hit if we can keep him fit, so hopefully Bunce can deliver.

Still need some cover for Bruno's and Tonali's position I guess?

We can always resort to 5 at the back maybe.

Miley can cover Tonali or Bruno's position.

First choice midfield:

Joelinton - Tonali - Bruno

Second choice:

Willock - Miley - Ramsey

Ideally we'd get someone else in because Willock is a crock but it's okay other than that.

Plus we have Lewis Hall who could do it in an emergency.
