He was injured for 39 days last season missing 10 games.

Its not that bad at all. The season before was the bad one.

If it was off then on, I reckon it's because we are bringing Asensio back.

Which would indicate you probably don’t really want to sell, but need to fund the Asensio deal?

Pretty happy with this, £40m does seem a little inflated though.

40 is the "update" on 20 which was for the old 12/15m its crazy how the market has shot up makes the psr allowable losses being fixed even more perplexing.

We were always going to sell someone, especially after getting Guessand in last week.

If you look at the candidates (for decent money) then JJ is the obvious candidate. Also, he's home grown so it's all booked profit.

In a world where no PSR, I'd have kept him, but we're not in that world. My only concern is ideally, we'd have sold Bailey first, not Ramsey.

He's a very good, promising player, he's just not really convincingly made it into Emery's team on an ongoing basis, and he's got the recurrent broken foot problem.

None of that is alone compelling cause to sell, but it's compelling cause for him to be one of the key candidates if we needed to.

Also - his contract situation, umming and aahing on it for a while now, probably his agent overplaying his hand.

Twice the price, but he's better than El Khannouss that's for sure.

And obviously a different type of player but he's better than Longstaff who he is essentially replacing in the squad.

What happens if one of Bruno or Tonali suffer a long-term injury? To me Joelinton, Willock and Ramsey all have questionable fitness records and they all play pretty much exclusively down the left.

Miley would cover any injury to RCM you'd imagine.

That's the bit I don't get. He plays predominantly down the left, which doesn't strike you as an area of immediate concern.
