Pilko
He needs to be in there starting most games now. Whilst nobody covered themselves in glory again today, he's such an obvious upgrade on Joelinton when it comes to moving the ball forwards or keeping it tighter areas. nemtizz
Bit too early to judge the new signings that have played so few minutes because the entire team is shite. Looked good for about 20 mins against Leeds before getting injured?

Displayname
Hard to judge him when he is getting throwned into a team that is not functioning, but from what I saw he had a few poor involvements and I can't think of anything positive.
Menace
I've yet to see anything this guy does to justify the price we paid for him, I honestly hope I'm wrong.
HaydnNUFC
He should be starting games tbh. Joelinton needs phasing out now. We’re a season late with that imo. However he’s not the type of midfielder we needed profile wise. Think we could’ve made better use of £45m tbh.
Newcastle Fan
I must say i have not seeing a single thing that he adds that Joe Willock doesn't, looks even less of an athlete compared to Joe and just as injury prone. He needs to do better after the international break.
Myleftboot
Is he any better than joe willock?
Wallsendmag
Scandalous that we spunked £155m on him, Elanga and Wissa like.
gbandit
Think he started slowly and then improved, his ability to hold onto a football under pressure and work space is fairly invaluable in a team where our midfield largely lacks the ability to play out of tight spaces. He’s going to be excellent for us
Alberto2005
I quite like him tbh, although he does seem a bit one dimensional.
Kimbo
He’s not what we needed but as we’ve spent £40m on him and Joelinton is playing terribly, I’d give him a run in the team. It always seemed odd that we decided we needed more Joe Willock in the summer. Edited November 9, 2025 by Kimbo
kenlau88210
I didn't watch him closely, but I reckon he probably should have covered for Burn more. Normally, Joelinton does very well with the off-the-ball work. Leaving Burn to 1v1 against fast tricky wingers is always gonna be difficult for him. Sibierski
He should be starting a run of games, like Elanga. Then we ca n make a proper judgement. Thaiw and Wolte both had consistent runs, and both been our better players. But it means permanently benching two of Howes trusted players.
The College Dropout
Not sure I’ve seen him pass it forward.
Aiston
Not sure what he really offers, certainly not really what we needed so far(creative midfielder). He should get a run though in the middle with Bruno and Tonali.
Sima
Couldn't get in Aston Villa's team so fuck knows how he's supposedly of a standard to walk into our first team.

While I agree with what you said about Elanga and Ramsey, a player like Wissa could've made our attack so much better on his own. We desperately need him back. Whitley mag
He’s bang average and nothing more than a squad player. We needed a Joelinton upgrade to move us forward, such a lazy and unimaginative signing.

I’ve never seen him not take the easiest pass available. I’ve not seen much good from the lad. Doesn’t drive forward much. Doesn’t pass forward much. Doesn’t eat the ground up all that well. Hasn’t had many minutes so perhaps this is harsh but he makes a prime Willock look like Patrick Vieira.
The Prophet
Oh boy, hopefully the fans get into him and his confidence ends up on the deck like Elanga's.
Gottlob
The one signing we made in the summer that I think was a mistake and am not hugely invested in. We would have been much better with some of what Sunderland ended up with, an experienced player to sit in front of the defence and a youngster with a bit of energy.
