Can we now all start laughing at the Everton result against Burnley rather than shutting our pants? -

Reputation built on one free kick. very very good full back but not as good as his legend is.

That's pre contact, take it back 2 frames and Allan's foot is on the floor. The replay's showed contact was high on ASMs shin -
Got the man with 2 feet Both feet off the ground First contact nearer the knee than ankle. There was enough there to make it a red and if that had been the first card colour only Everton fans would have complained. Its VAR and the clear and obvious rule once again that's the issue

So it was a red as he was off the floor. It was a stupid 'tackle'. All he needed to do was clip ASM's heels to stop the run but he went for a lunge closer to the knee than the ankle and caught him with both feet - albeit not at the same time. You don't make a red/yellow judgment on whether a foul results in injury, you base it on the intent, how in control you are of contact on a player and the execution. Allan got all 3 on the wrong side of a red and its a justified red despite not being a nailed on decision. The only question, once again, is to whether it was a clear and obvious error to only give a yellow. -

I thought we just saw tonight what we are - a limited set of players with a couple of potential diamonds who as a collective have outperformed the sum of their parts for 2 months and looked knackered with one game too many. 3 away games in 10 days, 2 of which were long trips is tough for anyone. we refresh, get spurs out of the before 4 games we should get 7 points from. And relax. a good reminder that we do need 5-6 new first teamers tonight -
Liverpool have had to win 11 in a row to close the gap, will probably need to win at least 8 out of 9 (including the game with City) to win the league. I just can't see them having that level of run, but if they keep the front 5 fit they could do it. (Feel sick and dirty just saying that!)

Awful dive in that game though

It will be a nervous support, it might be noisy just before kick off but all we need to do is get a free kick or corner in the first couple of minutes and it will go silent -
I've no doubt that the Elbow wasn't an attempt to injure but when Havetz himself has claimed 'This guy is like seven, eight foot and I have to jump against him. You have to use arms to jump and when I jump he is higher than me, so it is tough.' Then he is admitting that he has deliberately used his arms to gain an advantage in a challenge. It went wrong and must be classed as dangerous and/or reckless play. The pen decision is what it is, David Blunkett can see it was a pen

The journey is more important than the destination. The lads are rightfully enjoying every victory and step on the new direction of the club, and so they should. most of them won't be here when we win the league but this period is as important as that season will be. It is also obviously having an impact on making the fans feel close to the club once more. I hope we hire out all of Aviva's open top buses when we win the League Cup, fuck it lets hire the Flying Scotsman and do shuttle runs between Newcastle and Carlisle for a week. They and we will deserve it. Plus, more pictures = more Tindall
