It kind of feels like a repeat of 1994/5 had an amazing 93/94 where we caught everyone by surprised and finished 3rd. Everton could have avoided this decline into mediocrity if they had brought in Howe around the time they had decent money. Howe grew up an Everton fan and it would have been a step up from Bournemouth what with the ambition and money back then. The definition of hidden gem and underrated, can’t believe the only interested club was Celtic before we came in. Madness.

He is missing ASM and Willock more than most I think, both of whom were on his wavelength. Isak has a baller style of play similar to the other two, full of flair. In the team there’s only Bruno, Tonali and perhaps Almiron with a touch of flair. The team currently seems workmanlike and predictable, Gordon’s pace can be nullified, Almiron can be brushed onto his right foot and Wilson can be contained. Definitely need to bring him back to number 10 and play Wilson ahead of him, or play him up top with a number 10 behind him. 4-3-3 doesn’t get the best out of him in this current squad.

Murphy, Longstaff and Burn have been poor. Isak too. I’m beginning to see he can’t play CF by himself. He needs to be just off the main striker.

I've only been to three live games. Barcelona vs AC MIlan (CL Semi Final, Nou Camp, 2006) (0-0) (saw prime Ronaldinho, Kaka, Shevchenko etc in the flesh) Newcastle vs Bolton (PL, St James Park, 2010) (1-1) Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle (League Cup, City Ground, 2011) - 3-4 (Ben Arfa comeback game, Coloccini scored the winner) I am long overdue! I've been to other stadiums for an event or conference - e.g. King Power Stadium, Milton Keynes Dons, Sheffield United Bramall Lane, Elland Road, Villa Park etc but they were not for footy games.
