Don't understand why they didn't just go for Elliot at the start of the season tbh if that's the road they're going down now. Hopefully he can arrest the slide and keep them in the division. Appointing a local ex non-league manager without a proper job in years just cos he worked at the local college was never a plan dreamt up by Einstein. Proper accountants penny pincher move and it's shown.

There's two ways of looking at the Burnley game - you could either say we did really well to ride out the period of pressure we were under and defended well enough to see it through, or that against most other teams in the division we go to 2-2 because of the decent chances we allowed and that our record from that point of already dropping a two-goal lead isn't clever. I think you have to give Howe a break on this occasion. I've been super critical and irritated at us pissing away leading positions this season and regardless of how close we came, we didn't do it and got the win this time. You just have to hope we use that as a mental platform to remind the players that despite inevitably coming under pressure at times we can ride it out, hold a lead and even score again.

Nah I agree, I've thought this all season long. Probably only other example was running I to Forest at the tail end of the Ange misfire when they were in disarray. Generally though it does seem like we run into teams that are bang in form or who've just turned a corner.

Lamine Diatta? 2 appearances, although could I fuck tell you which games without needing to look it up

That was kind of my thinking - we never seem to get deals done super early in January, and assuming we are still negotiating or whatever 2-3 weeks into the window I reckon 2 or 3 of those lads will be available again and we'll hold off to get better value/a better target come the summer. Or we can recall Targett as cover, of course. The Ake link definitely makes sense but it doesn't seem very "us" at the minute - short-term loan for an older player on decent wages - as it won't be super value.

It'll be Lampard again or they'll take Rosenior from Strasbourg.

Late entry for the Obvious Syrup of 2025 award there from big Landon.

We won't get anyone in IMO. Trippier, Burn Krafth and Tino will come back from injury at some stage soon (varying) & with Miley also a RB option all of those bar Krafth will be considered the cover. Howe doesn't fancy Alex Murphy clearly but would imagine he'd rather gamble on him getting a handful of emergency minutes in the short term to rushing in and making a buy. We'll go in for a LB in the summer IMO.

I hear what you're saying. Adama Traore is git fast and doesn't turn 30 til the back end of the window. £40m should do it if we want it done whilst he's still 29.

How many players have made precisely one senior competitive appearance for NUFC since 1992/93? League, domestic cups & European games included but obviously pre-season games not. (Open ended question as I don't know the final answer - the ones I could think of first of all spoilered below)

Should keep his place in the side for the rest of the season, fullback or centre mid. He's one of our best footballers.

Why do we need a replay here FFS? He's about a yard off

Hahahaha Patrick Divegu denied by the flag, wanker.

Come on Wolves, please. A winner here would be delicious

Well done to him on getting a much needed away win. Tonight was definitely one where the result was more important than the performance. That said, the same problems were evident - sitting back and conceding shit loads of chances, midfield being ran through at will, not changing anything whilst we look like conceding at any given moment. We were lucky Burnley are shit & we probably go 2-2 against most other teams in the division playing the way we did.
-
Please keep him fit and healthy. He's class.
-
Great result, really needed it. Made it much harder than it needed to be but we just needed the win there. Same problems exist and we'd have drawn or lost that against most other sides in the division, however.
-
He's losing the ball constantly, I don't get it. Looks miles off his high levels.
-
Fuck me man. We're absolutely desperate to throw this away.
-
We're fucking desperate to bin this
-
Woltemade and J Murphy for Wissa and Barnes. In about five mins.
-
Why do they even bother passing to him? They know he won't score.
-
Clearly doesn't fancy it today. Burnley not glamorous enough a venue. Give him a nudge when we're off to Paris.

Oh look, Gordon crumples to the ground again when fairly tackled. Fucking hopeless.
