RTG seem to think that result was good… A result that takes them bottom.

Tbf Palace are likely to go down, a West Ham win would have taken them 8 points ahead of Sunderland rather than just 5. Better for the Mackems to have more 'battle of the shits' competing.

This, pretty obvious its a good result for them when you look at it. That said it wont matter much unless they start picking up themselves. Hard to see where a win will come from atm.

Think if wham get Carroll back they'll be alright. Depends on how long. If they lose him all season I'd start to wonder if they've enough goals in them to do it. They kind of remind me of a low rent us with Owen, all eggs in one basket, vast sums of money tied up in a crock.

Thanks, I just did it on a whim after we beat WBA and Sunderland didn't win again. They are just incredibly short-sighted though, I wish their fans no harm but they are the club that keeps on giving so there was a lot to write about.

At the same stage last season (13 matches) QPR had 4 points, and Reading had 9 points. Both went down, and both had a good run of form in the second half of the season. The season before Blackburn had 7, whilst Wigan, and Bolton both had 9, only Wigan survived. The season before West Ham and Wolves had 9 points, only West Ham survived. Before that Portsmouth had 7, they went down. Over the last few years all the teams that have had fewer than 9 points 13 games into the season have went down.

Yet some stay up.

They're favourites to go down, sure. But Sunderland are far from finished. Sadly.

Last thing we should do is write them off then have to watch them "gloat" in May that they stayed up, just be happy they're shit, and see what comes of it. And if they do go down, marvellous.

Since the 2008/09 season no team with the same points as them at this stage have stayed up. I haven't bothered checking further back but I would imagine the chances would be slim.

The crux of the matter is they're shit, however there are 4 or 5 other teams who are playing equally as shit, and another 3 or 4 who you may not immediately expect to be in big danger but could easily get sucked in.

That Stan thing is quality. I mean, mental, but very good on the whole.

Didn't want to read it but it was very good

Sums it up for me too - it's a goddamned wall of text, but very much worth reading. Super effort

And a big  to the people who raved about it, because otherwise I was all like "tl;dr"
