LFEE
For the mooted fee, we can surely do better than Welbeck. He's linked to Everton anyway and given the choice of Pardew or Martinez, any sane player would know which one to play for. Could get Lacazette for the same money. Problem is we won't spend the money we need to. The problem is Lacazette doesn't want to join us...
AlanSkÃrare
If we get Wellbeck and still dont score Pardew will be under so much pressure from every direction Not if we're safe.
r0cafella
I'll be surprised if we bring anyone else in at this stage.
LRD
Lyon have yet to raise funds from selling players this summer. Lacazette, Umtiti and Grenier were the names most linked with a transfer, and the latter is crocked so they can't sell him. Will be interesting to see how it pans out within the week left even if Lacazette has expressed no intention in joining us.
Disco
Why bring in a proven forward when you can chance your arm with an unfit and unsuitable Argentine who the King doesn't fancy?

John P
Don't see how people can turn their nose up at the thought of us signing welbeck. He'd offer ten times more than the current strikers we have in terms of pace and movement. Confident he would get 10+ league goals too
John P
And also, it seems that it's either welbeck or nothing at this stage. Get him in.

If we already had a 15 goal a season striker I'd be tempted.
Guest chopey
I dont see how any forward we bring in will score goals, we are set up not to concede rather than score, the likes of Spurs and Liverpool will slaughter us this season if they get an early goal and the lower teams like QPR and Palace will be more than happy with a 0-0 draw

He's not had that for 4 years now, there's a much better player in there than the one that sits on the manure bench. I'd personally be delighted if we signed him. (not that pardew would use him correctly)

The league is full of dross and we will create chances even with Pardew at the helm.

Guest
That's what I was thinking/hoping when I watched their game yesterday. Hopefully in the next few days he starts thinking we're not perfect or even ideal, but we're still better for him than Queen's Park fucking Rangers. midds
I think we're pretty much done tbh. Any serious addition to the squad would cost too much, far more likely to see a couple leave from HBA, Tiote and/or MYM.

I don't think Remy gives two fucks about football to be honest. He's happy just raking the cash in and living the good life in a city which perfectly suites that. Gallowgate Toon
He's looked a little lost in the opening couple of games. It'll be interesting to see how motivated he is this year now that it looks like he's probably not going to get his 'dream' move.
Cronky
Welbeck? We should be so lucky. He'd be £15m well spent, particularly considering he can play in any attacking role. Having said that, if Everton and Spurs are in for him, we stand no chance.
