gbandit
McKenna’s profile looks very impressive. He’ll clearly have a great career in the premier league overall, making a success of Man U is a huge challenge. I think if he could gut the squad of the longer term players he might be successful there, even with the Glazers still as majority owners

Similar to Howe and Rafa here, the players could see they were improved (and in some instances had their careers saved). At Man U that dynamic isn’t really there, these are all established internationals for the most part and have seen managers come and go. There was noises that his training sessions when at Man U weren’t all that liked. bang on. he'd be far better off going somewhere like Brighton. but, Man Poonited are his boyhood club etc so you can't really blame him. he probably knows himself it's unlikely he'll succeed. gbandit
Frank and Tuchel would be disasters. Poch would be fine but wouldn’t get them back up to being challengers, I think McKenna is their best bet in all honesty but only if he has a lot of control

Froggy
Worth noting the leak merchants were feeding the press with stories of how they hated McKenna's training style and compared him to a school teacher. Granted this was years ago, but some of them are still there.

midds
Sacking ten Hag is clearly the right thing to do, it's the correct decision, but to leak it (or have it leak out) the day before the Cup Final is absolutely fucking shocking like. As others have said, this is just more evidence that they just don't know how to run a football club - even correct decisions are handled so badly and with such arrogance that they're making enemies even within their own fanbase. They should still be able to make a decent fist of it due to the amount of money they constantly throw at problems but they're very much on the decline in the medium term

When they were talking about him on OTC when he originally announced he was quitting they mentioned that being Barca manager whilst also being Catalan is absolutely exhausting as your are the de facto head of the Catalan Independence movement. They said it’s why Guardiola loves being at City as he can just be a pure football manager and not also seventy other things. Hopefully he tries his hand elsewhere at a progressive club, he has some good ideas but could never really fully realise them at Barca. Him and Pirlo jumped to the big jobs too quickly and when both clubs were in situations where it is almost lose/lose. Bit like Shearer in our relegation season I suppose. Fair like, can see how the pressure would tell but at the same time when you’re a Qatari lottery winner you don’t need to bother. Would be interested to see what a manager he really is though. Might be a drop off but seems ripe for Porto or Benfica.

GeordieDazzler
Boo hoo. It’s called being Man United manager, it comes with the territory. I love that we don’t whinge about the press or refs, it’s just a total waste of energy.
