Miguel Almirón

Deuce

Just wanted to reiterate Miggy is a saint.

Having ASM and Joelinton here now should take some weight off his shoulders and hopefully one of his next chances goes in. Once that is off his back hopefully nonces like the above tweeter will be off his back too. I still rate him the highest of our front three. (very much still) Potentially the best front three we have had in years and years... and fucking Steve Bruce handling them.

Sick of people and the media/pundits getting on his back. When he came in he offered us so much pace, so much more in attack, and even his presence opened up other areas of the pitch for us. He was unlucky not to score a few times, and of course his injury meant he had an early end of the season.

It’s far too easy for people to just look at his stats, see 1 assist, then write him off.

He also has the best attitude and work ethic of the lot of them which will mean top, top clubs will want him if he does well.

ASM I am sure will have a sulk mid season or within 18 months at least you can see it now.

Joelinton seems good so far, but is not even an international as yet and has only blossomed very recently - not fully proven imo.

Almiron defo has the best potential and for me is the most talented, too - we saw him dominate in this summers Copa America with poor players around him.

After being away on holiday and finally catching up on the highlights from the friendlies, this lad needs to work on his finishing quite a bit, he had some great chances and some really easy goals had he been more clinical. I'm not having a dig at him but with a bit of work and when the real test starts in the league we will need  him to take the sort of chances he missed. On the plus side Shelvey just kept putting the ball on the ground and putting him through with ease, so hopefully their understanding and a bit of work on Miggys finishing the pair will create plenty of chances.

Bruce won't know how to help him improve his finishing or how best to use him and he'll finish up on the bench

His finishing is fine. It's just potentially on the verge of becoming a mental block. Once one goes in the monkey is off his back and everything will be better.

A good manager won't focus on the goals, if he is doing his job right, then he will be causing enough problems. Same goes for Joelinton and Maximin.

We had a similar situation with Perez, he got criticised a lot during his time here, but Rafa always persisted because he was doing a good job for the team.

The goals are going to come if you have players doing the right things. Bruce just needs to harness them and not panic if they miss a few.

AMEN.

The pace, amount of space he will create and his link up play is invaluable. The scoring will come. It is keeping the boo-boys and morons of his back thats difficult.

I haven't heard a single fan criticise any aspect of his game, finishing included. Quite the opposite in fact.

I think we've already seen the quality he possesses and what he brings to the team and know that goals will inevitably follow.

Just needs to slam one in and he'll be flying after. His finishes at ATL with his left peg were brilliant. Some absolute cannons to some brilliant placed shots.

Any idea of his conversion to shot ratio, maybe he's always missed a few in amongst the screamers?

Quotes from Bruce saying they've been working on getting Almiron higher up the pitch.

Has a Pardew converting Tiote into a box to box midfielder feel about it. Cant wait to see how this pans out...

so it'll be 5-3----------------2 going forward then instead of 5-4----------1

In all fairness he usually played behind the striker at Atlanta.

The trouble is, who the fuck is going to supply him?

got a bad feeling this kid is gonna become the scapegoat for brucey and f***ing thicko followers.

I like the look of the lad but at the end of the day he will be judged on the number of assists and goals. Pressure is on him and under Bruce that may be a problem.

He should be judged by how he plays, especially when in his better position.

Played his best here though a little wider in a tougher league.
