That’s not enough really. To only have a player who can tackle.
He’s very capable of carrying the ball forward and he can play the ball forward to a decent level as well.

Unfortunately he didn’t do those 2 much at all today.

You can’t only put in a performance when a certain other player is on the pitch.

Love the guy. Agree on Longstaff hiding a little also. Think there was one point where Schar had the ball and was looking for an angle to pass into Longstaff. He never moved to open it up but stayed hidden behind the midfielder. Basics. Big Jo is there to break the play, the other two have the license to create, and today both did little. Also, the amount of ground he covers both centrally and for ASM on the left is ridiculous. I'd argue we would miss him more than Bruno in a game.

I think all of you are right. Great disruption, huge presence, useful forward carrying, but poor passing decision making at times and trying to do too much because there was no other creative presence in the middle of the park.

He will easily be a top 6 player if he has better midfielders around him, letting him play to his strengths.

He was trying to do too much yesterday, in doing so lost the ball a number of times with loose passes or being tackled.

It was nothing that cost us but not his best game in recent times. Still better than most of the team but he’s held to a high bar these days.

He’s at his best for us when he keeps things simple and uses his skill to break the line and set up a counter. You don’t notice the bad things in his game when Bruno is around because he seems to be all over the pitch bailing everyone out.

Tried to do too much yesterday because Willock, who was supposed to be our most creative and attack minded midfielder yesterday, wasn't doing anything of the sort. Longstaff was guilty of forcing passes yesterday as well because of it.

As soon as Anderson came on for Willock we started applying a ton of pressure on Wolves at the end because he started making things happen, like Willock should have been doing. Anderson plays in Murphy behind who caused Wolves to clear in a panic that led to ASM's goal. Anderson then hit the bar with his header. Finally he runs at Wolves plays a one two with Joelinton that would have put him in, but led to the free kick that gave us a chance to win the game.

All I remember from Willock going forward was that glaring chance he missed.

Don’t you be too critical of Willock mind.A few actually think he’s a good player ?

Wasn't that Trippier's ball to Murphy?
