Aye - also lots of younguns on here wont remember the abuse Graham Taylor got from the media.

Front page headlines too.

Hypocrites.

Lots of parallels with Bruce...

A different type of root vegetable, an image ran by the Sun if memory serves me well ?

He claimed he'd needed a police escort home towards the end at Sunderland, and that they threw coins at him. It just wasn't as newsworthy so his blatant lies weren't as well reported.

It is quite possible that coins and such were thrown at him at Sunderland and Villa.

However I’ll never forget that whenever he went on a poor run of form all of a sudden there would be an article about how he tried to stop people from burgling his home, complete with marks all over his face.

It was a coincidence that it kept happening and at rough times as well.

It’s almost as true as Pardew’s lies about his daughter was told never to come to Newcastle again.

The issue is that the pundits are less likely to be objective either through personal relationships, business dealings or previous engagements with clubs. There is a cancel culture that exists, but you'll often have ex players move into the media as a means of making a living and as a result offer "expert" opinions on the game as they see it. Do I care what some will say about Newcastle? No, because their opinion has been influenced by a personal relationship as opposed to watching or understanding the current situation around the club. The downside is when they fall into the etiquette of assuming or an opinion that is outdated due to not having the awareness to do some research. I'm not suggesting that a pundit needs to research in depth all twenty clubs, but if the media briefed them on the hot topics and they spent a bit of time (not Twitter) researching it might actually improve.

Steve Bruce has left, he wasn't successful with us during his time here, but it wasn't unexpected based on the information we had from his previous spells with clubs in the Premier League. With a backdrop of an initially failed takeover that promised the world and minimal transfer dealings from an owner that was hated it pointed towards a dismal job. Steve Bruce accepted the role knowing full well the expectation from the club on his achievements and by staying up he fulfilled those. The media will turn their attention to Ole now because that will be the hot topic and in a few weeks time I imagine it will be another manager that will be facing the heat. This is the "narrative" of the best league in the world.

That 5-0 win for Liverpool couldn’t have come at a better time to show the hypocrisy in the media and football. Every media outlet this morning was harping on about Ole getting the sack. Social media was rife with abuse going his way. Completely overlooked and if Ole does get sacked all the attention will be about who replaces him, the treatment of him now will be quickly forgotten about.

Love the title change

Bruce will not know what to do with himself or how to fill the time now he's got Saturday off as well as a couple hours on Tuesday and Thursday.

I guess just do what he did for 95% of the time we were paying him millions and he wasn't working.

So both Sky and the BBC now have videos out interviewing fans outside Old Trafford asking fans who should takeover from Ole because of how terrible he is at the same time condemning the Newcastle fans for their treatment of Bruce.

Of course. It's because Newcastle Utd is a loser club, they should be grateful they have anyone to manage them at all, ever. Whereas Man Utd is a winner club, for whom losing a single match is a travesty and the manager should clearly be replaced.

Danny Murphy this morning talking about how ‘the stats don’t lie’ with Ole.

Yet Bruce’s stats were ignored.

Or they say his record was the exact same as Rafas, forgetting of course he spent £160 million to improve Rafas squad

Danny Murphy man. Very good player back in the day and punched way above his weight when he married an absolute stunner.

But as a pundit, christ...

Most of these pundits just contradict themselves constantly. They just say what they think the majority want to hear not even thinking what shit they were spouting yesterday and go with the flow.

You could easily tie them in knots if you could be arsed to argue with the brain-dead idiots

I'm pretty sure some people actually believe whatever the media potrays about Bruce and hence some might feel he is a good manager without doing any proper research. Good on them and hope Man Utd sign him up soon.
