He claimed he'd needed a police escort home towards the end at Sunderland, and that they threw coins at him. It just wasn't as newsworthy so his blatant lies weren't as well reported.

Social media now makes it easier for his nonsense to get circulated around the place and for people to then go and and on about it more.

Bruce said some horrible things about Ashley and Lambshite during a talkin when he was Sunderland manager, yet he never said a peep when he managed us, he was in bed with him and Ashley paid him off using other peoples money for the sake of Bruce himself, he is a selfish parasite.

If he is hated so much and he’s having all this abuse but kept on with the job why can’t anybody outside of say Craig Hope just call it for what it was?

he stuck around for the pay day. That’s it. Just be up front about it. Absolute morons in the press trying to find ways to defend a guy who barely won a quarter of his matches and won fuck all. Ohhh what an achievement!

I'm assuming that would tarnish his reputation as a man of dignity and integrity [as defined by the media]. Funny thing is, I 'd think he had a lot more of both if he said he was sticking around for his payoff.

Doing a shite job and getting an £8million payout is legendary.

Same, it's absolutely mental. It's just one of those narratives that's been decided somewhere, taken off and runaway with itself, become fact. I'm sure he's gotten some abuse that's not on, but there's nothing exceptional about it in his case. And the accusations of abuse are getting all tangled up with saying we shouldn't have been critcising him at all and that just wanting him sacked is abuse. At the same time he's been elevated to some kind of national treasure, the last person to deserve such a thing. It's absolutely wild. Sort of thing that makes me start to doubt myself and think I *must* be missing something. You see it happen in politics.

People stuck up for Pardew when we wanted him out, but never got like this. Managers have had worse times from Newcastle fans and it's never been like this. Nor for any manager anywhere!

The only thing that I can see was worse for him was that taking charge of that Tottenham was a bit embarrassing for him, the way everyone knew he was a dead man walking and were otherwise celebratory. That situation was a bit unique in our case, but it wasn't because he got abused by fans. And the other thing is the slagging off and failure might've hurt him more given his roots, but again, that's not him getting any more abuse.

Martin Samuel was the one who stuck in my mind for criticising our reluctance to embrace Allardyce, then his own beloved West Ham got lumbered with him.

I think that might be part of the reason why he's a bit more thoughtful about the PIF takeover and hasn't jumped on the anti-NUFC bandwagon so quickly this time.

If by some mad lunacy they did end up hiring Bruce, it would be fantastic. Finally, when he’s shat all over one of the biggest clubs in world football, everyone might finally see how bad he is.

Because of our luck and the team they have, he would end up winning the league with them

There's no way he goes there although it would be beautiful

It'll be interesting to see whether his mates in the media clammer for him to get it, cos you know...he does such a good job.

Apparently Savage shut a caller down who suggested it earlier.

I wonder if the same fuss will be made over these supporters by the way? There's a few on the #OleOut

Difference is, Ole probably won't bleat on about these tweets, and or call out any abuse for sympathy.
