On one hand we've endured 14 years of ashley already what's another few weeks on the other hand this has to be finished right fucking now - for better or worse - before I go absolutely mental.

Maybe he's not responding to any new inquiries because he's committed (or signed exclusive) with the consortium at the new price. That would literally be the simplest reason other than there are actually no other credible fucking offers.

I feel like this is spot on.

You know what, if MMA is Ashley, and he does sell us, I think we should let him off on the basis of the quality of his discourse over this troubled period.

Nee chance.  All of my 30’s we’ve been absolutely shite.  He’s taken probably my peak age for supporting NUFC away from me.

Bloke deserves no forgiveness.

My personal view is that backing a spurious and futile legal attempt would be of little benefit to the Trust or anyone else for that matter. Read the letter, it's badly written noise. I'm still struggling to establish the standing required to bring such a claim. Serious legal action isn't played out on Twitter and through a local newspaper at letter before action stage.

Surely you can see it’s all about applying pressure on the PL. Also the resume of the QC behind this would suggest it’s far from spurious and futile. Whilst i appreciate this is your personal view, i do worry your view is shared by the trust also. Surely there is nothing more important in relation to our clubs future than getting this takeover pushed through. I really despair if the trust do not see a role for themselves at present in helping pursue this.

I don't know the financial status of the fans in question but I assume it would be quote some outlay for the man on the street to engage that type of legal counsel ?

Especially as they would have to cover the PL’s costs should they lose

If it was truly a fan based initiated claim then they would have tried to crowd fund it. Ashley or those whom wish to purchase us must be.

They did and got quite a backlash

And that's what's niggling away in the back of my mind

Why did they try/fail to crowd fund if the consortium is actually behind the legal push?

I think it is without question that the club paid this groups legal fees. There are a few reasons for this I can think of:

1. The preferred legal route requires a ‘customer’

2. They had written some letters a couple of months ago which had statutory response times, so this is the speedier route

3. Generally coordinated attack of the PL from all angles

4. To add further pressure on PL without directly antagonising them

5. To break the legal action in smaller chunks to possibly avoid lengthy pre-arguments on which courts have what jurisdiction

6. To make an early grab on all PL communications.

Regardless have to move on from the idea that this is just a couple of chancers.

Edwards seems to have taken it personally that Liam Kennedy has become the go to journo on this story.

@LukeEdwardsTele

I had never heard of him before this case... Let’s hope he’s as good as he sounds. Bring it home Robert. Bring it home.
