Takeover Thread - July 1st statement, Staveley letter to Tracey Crouch (and response) in OP

Just ban those who say "it won't happen" like it's a fact. You know nothing, just guessing. Stop being like this.

And ban those who say “it will happen” like it’s a fact too ?

Not really, as the ongoing quietness (that worries a lot of people) is evidence that legal action is happening behind the scenes and (taking into account the people involved) it is going to ultimately be successful.

Yeah everyone, stop questioning unreliable sources and using any form of critical thinking when it comes to a prospective Newcastle United takeover, it's gone so smoothly thus far

MA looking well there, shifted some serious beef. Remember him looking a bit trimmer at Fulham last game of 18-19, and he's really kept it off, good for him.

Wonder if he’s lost it from anxiety about our potential relegation....or because he’s been missing his usual big portions of Indian food during Covid...?

My own personal thoughts at this moment in time are that relegation will completely end the takeover. I think PIF are still interested but barely. I think if there is an opportunity to own a PL club they’d do a deal. Again just my own personal opinion but I think it’s Staveley & the Ruebens that have their heart set on It being Newcastle

Wrong and inaccurate. If the Reuben's had the heart on buying the club they would, they have plenty of money.

It’s not as simple as that. They probably don’t want to own a football club outright. When I say the ruebens have their heart set on Newcastle I mean they have plenty money already in the city and probably have a lot of plans out with the football club

With the Reubens I always thought they're too media-shy to want the attention of owning 100% of the club. If they're hidden as minority partners most people consider the club to be Saudi-owned in the public eye if it ever happened and while they're still 10% of the club people are hardly going to focus their thoughts on them compared to PIF?

The Reuben Brothers are worth something like 18 Billion. It seems Jamie really wants it and the brothers must see it as an opportunity on a wider scale. All presumptions of course but if the PL approve PIF then the whole city and region should hugely benefit.

I hope to god there’s huge pressure to give this the green light. Covid is costing lives, money and people’s futures, there’s an opportunity to inject huge amounts of non government funds into the region. It should be a no brainer. And yes, we all know they bad regime side of this but, I’ll be honest I’ll choose the improvement of my club and region first and hope it opens a door to improvements for others.

We’re almost certainly going down now, can someone fill me with hope that the takeover isn’t dead when that happens?

No one knows. In truth forget it, save yourself the agony.

Accept walking away from the club .

I don’t think there is a chance of a takeover and anyone who still believes must now surely accept it’s at least nowhere near close because Bruce would simply not still be here.
