If the €75m fee is accurate, that's how much Mbeumo/Pedro would have cost so if the plan was to get one of those and Elanga then there's no reason this should be out of reach financially.

While it would be very Newcastle to go dead silent for a day or two here. After the obligatory "first bid rejected".. I think the fact we have to move fast (with other clubs circling) will work in our favour, whether thats the deal being concluded in the next two days or us moving on. The fact its been reported we are 48 hours into negotiations is positive too. If true.

 

We knew it was going to be an exciting and interesting window! Just took a bit of time to ignite.
