Wood shouldn't be anywhere near starting for us.
bhoywhonder
Can't score goals at this level. Plays like fukin Grealish.... Prove me wrong bro
buzza
He was pretty rank today. He presses well and can defend corners and free kicks, not much else…
buzza
He does give his 100%, which is worth a nod.
Newcastle Fan
I don't even think he gives a 100%, he runs and presses so lazily and gets beaten off the ball too frequently for a man of his size.

Danh1
The Kiwi Joselu. Seems a good lad so hope he somehow goes on a bit of a run but he just doesn’t look like he’s going to score, pens aside.
wyn davies
May do ok In championship but deffo no go in the premier, though he was involved in pulling us out of a difficult situation last January, just don't under stand how he's a striker but can't put a ball in the net. plenum
What a waste of money and space in the squad. Must get rid of in Jan. if possible. Surely there must be someone better up front in our current squad albeit injuries. I'd even (hope) take a junior from the acadamy than Wood..!?!?! Bada Bing
We won't be getting shot any time soon. He cost a fair whack, has a good injury record, and serves a purpose as a reliable member of the squad to call on. He's got 1 year left on his deal come this summer, I'd imagine if we can get £10-£12m for him we'd take it and move on tbh.
GlenMag
Maybe I'm being contrary but I didn't think he was that bad yesterday, watching back today the failed cutback wasn't that easy in the conditions, and have to give the keeper credit for the one in the second half, he's not a world class striker and we didn't buy him to be one. He's as good a third choice striker as there is in the league

Holloway
The one where he took it wide of the keeper, the finishing touch was so limp, like a kitten prodding a ball of wool
Wild Geese
I've a lot of time for the Kiwi, there's definitely a player in there, he's definitely not what you would call explosive though! Maybe he's not a good fit for a possession-based team?
Stottie
In a soaking wet game that is going affect all our your finesse play, a big-man striker should really be putting himself about to help make something happen. Despite his size, Wood offers much less in physicality than Wilson. He's been disappointing in that regard.

He's as good a third choice striker as there is in the league Got to say I thought the cutback was easy, but he never looked confident, and that lack of willingness to impose himself in situations is a recurrent fault. I can understand and respect his natural limitations, but sometimes he looks very hesitant.

80
I know he was offside, but couldn't believe he didn't bang that one on one chance he had at the end His self belief must be through the floor.

Worst part of that was that invited all the pressure that last couple of mins. Even if he'd blasted it 20 yards wide it would have gave us a chance to get back in position
