Hanshithispantz
The reason he's "not had a sniff" though is partly down to him being too slow to react or having a poor touch in several situations. I think he deffinitely played his part against Leeds, statistically he won an absurd amount of balls in the air so he has to have, but so far in and around the box he's looked poor. He has joined a very dysfunctional team, a team that largely doesnt really support the centre forward, that doesnt make runs past the front man, that doesnt cross the ball, or play good balls down the channels. Callum Wilson appears to be lauded on this forum, but he has only scored one goal in open play since October, playing in this same dysfunctional side. No doubt Wilson is a good player, but he hadnt looked very good for some time before his injury. Now weve upgraded our team, maybe we will be less dysfunctional, support the centre forward, make runs off him, get crosses in etc, then Wood, or Wilson will look much better. It shows how clinical Wilson has been for us giving the tragic lack of quality service into him since he signed, that will all hopefully improve for all of our attackers now under Howe and with the recent new signings. We need to get players closer to Wood either side of him and someone who can get beyond him like a Willock or a Wilson. He has the attributes to be effective, he’s not a clinical goalscorer, nor a poacher, but he can finish. He’s not quick, but he gets himself around and in the air he can be dominant, his first touch isn’t the best, but he’s no donkey. If he can grab 5 or more goals for us, he’ll have done well. A nice early goal against Everton should do his confidence the world of good. Fingers crossed!

Skeletor
I'll make my peace with this now that my frustrations with our attacking options in the January window have calmed down. I didn't want this transfer but he's here now, so please score some goals and help keep us up.

Love it when people use stats selectively to prove a point. Here’s another version of the same truth. Wilson has scored four goals in six weeks for us during this season, a period between Oct and Dec. That’s one more goal than Wood has scored in six months. It's hardly selective.

After that the goals will be a bonus. Hopefully with the new signings, especially Bruno, and a few weeks training under his belt, we'll see more understanding with his teammates. Dandy Man
He is going to be away for NZ World Cup qualifiers from 18th-30th March (assuming they get to final) which means he is missing Palace at home at a minimum - fuck knows who will be playing up front in that match
J7
I've no issue with this signing and was impressed with him at Leeds, but the fact remains that with Wilson out for nearly the whole of the rest of the season, we're weaker in attacking areas than we were in early December. Can't help but think we should have also brought in a younger forward player, even from the Championship in January. They didn't need to be a long term option. NEEJ
I've gone for 3 to 4. If they're all winners he was worth the punt.
LRD
Think it works both way. Our midfield had little control of the match and he has to come deeper to support or get the ball. With Bruno in, hopefully this means that he can benefit from staying up front and feeding on the chances created.
Yorkie
4. I like him and I'm happy he's here but I don't see him setting the world alight. We're really going to need some goals from midfield.
HaydnNUFC
5 or 6, I reckon. If 3 of those are winners there's 9 points. Positive way of looking at it.
