pedro111
Love the lad, me. An absolute boss on the pitch but seemingly with the personality of someone who would have got bullied at school. Couldn't be happier for him.

Guess it depends how much faith they have that Lewis can be Howed back to life. Expand Howe's said Lewis will be given a chance in pre-season, they've extended Dummett, and now Targett is coming. With Trippier and Krafth both capable of playing LB, there's legitimately no space for Manquillo. He'll be off.

Hanshithispantz
Manquillo is one of the few players we can afford to offload who would actually bring a decent fee. I really wanted him to make a push after the Leeds game but Krafth took over completely. He'd be a decent signing for someone.
Coffee_Johnny
Delighted. For him and us. Seems very appropriate, given what he did for us, that he is our first summer signing. A competent and competitive club with values. Feels so good.

Dr Jinx
It would have been wrong if the first signing wasn’t Targett. So happy this club is being run properly now, keep half expecting to wake up and it all being some sort of lucid dream.
TRon
Very pleased for Targett. I would have liked a full back who can offer a bit more going forward, but there was always the risk that we would have lost some defensive solidity. Matt is a brilliant defender so was never going to be a loss to sign him permanently.

Lush Vlad
Really happy with this. He won't need a bedding in period in the league and we know he already fits in with the team. Only really had a couple of poor performances, from memory. One of which was away at Spurs, when the whole team were miles off it. Always seemed to be a 7 or an 8 every week. Money saved to spend elsewhere and a solid signing for a great price.

Geordie Ahmed
Targett is a sensible and solid signing. Whilst the appeal of Lodi or a more attacking LB is obvious, sticking to a solid option for a reasonable fee means you can spend bigger elsewhere on the pitch, where we definitely need to improve. Matt is a brilliant defender so was never going to be a loss to sign him permanently. Expand I think his attacking contribution has been really good this season. The fact he is so solid defensively probably overshadows his attacking contribution. He makes a lot of smart runs forward and has a brilliant left foot. Made quite a few key passes down the left side that has resulted in goals or a big chance, and is good on set pieces.
