Yes Please. He would be perfect for us. Not fucking McTom.

I’ve not actually seen him play, what type of player is he ? Is he compatible to anyone?

Thuram would be such an excellent pick up on a free really.

He has the physicality Eddie likes, but is also technically very good and really versatile.

Would love to see us seal that deal nice and early.

I’ve taken against Thurman, on the basis of not very much at all, he looks decent but doesn’t look like the finished article to me. Getting him, even on a free, would I fear prevent us getting an absolute goal scoring beast—like Osimhen (most exciting young but ‘finished article’ striker out there). I appreciate he may be beyond us, but I’d prefer someone else, who looked a safer bet, even Ramos.

Paulinha from Fulham?

I watched Urgarte in the second leg of the Arsenal v Sporting game and he was top level. Even the second yellow he got in extra time was because his game was non stop flying into tackles trying to break up play. Not sure on his sending off record, but I’m sure that can be managed

If there are serious concerns with FFP. It seems mad if we are genuinely going after loads of ‘prem proven’ players. Considering the premium we’ll have to pay and the fact they’ll already be on higher wages than a lot of players we’re looking at from abroad.

Was surprised he wasn’t linked more. Would be perfect for us.

£40m for a dead ball specialist? No thanks. Can’t see how he’d be perfect at all, especially for that price.

I would say that he is similar in the way Bruno is when it comes to a positional sense. Very composed and has the ability to time and sniff out danger. He’s stronger than Bruno but doesn’t have quite the same ability when going forward. He’s technically very good as well as being very press resistant. He’s also good at pressing, especially the early press where he often gets quite high up the pitch and wins the ball. He might not have Bruno’s final ball but his passing is still very good. So a good choice as starting our moves in the build up play. On the ball he is calm and composed.

If we qualify for the Champions League there’s no FFP concerns, we’ll be fiddling income left right and centre. In theory even Europa League allows us to sign Arsenal/Man Utd level of sponsorship deals.

It won't, I'm afraid.  Qualifying will not see the PL ratifying sponsorship deals that are at Man Utd levels - it would take many years of sustained success to be able to argue that we're at that point.  Which is why the club would be daft to do anything other than short-term (1-3 year) deals - the shorter the better.

Don't get me wrong, the fact that other clubs get to decide what 'fair market value' is strikes me as uncompetitive practice, but as it stands that's where we are.
