Check check check I’d say his only weakness is elite athleticism (in terms of pace and power) otherwise I’d say he’s pretty complete. I'll go with the set piece ability. The rest? Sorry, I don't agree - and at 28 there's little that could be improved with coaching.

I’d argue he doesn’t need extensive coaching and can come in and do well almost instantly. Anyway, appears we’ll have to agree to disagree here mate Edited March 26, 2023 by McCormick

KaKa
Won't be surprised if Liverpool pick him up on the cheap when Southampton go down. Similar to when they signed Henderson and Wijnaldum. Could see him easily doing just as well as those two did for them. Gini in our midfield under MClaren was usually invisible and only showed up when he was scoring. At Liverpool he was part of a midfield three with Henderson that was key to them winning the Prem and the Champions League.

Condescending load of shite mate. I didn't address you specifically with that post. I've heard these takes on Ward Prowse a fair bit, about how he is just a dead ball specialist. When I watch the games I don't see that at all. In an even half decent team with a better role, ideally in a midfield three, it would be so much more clear that he's a very good player. Someone is going to get a great deal there. It will probably be Liverpool, as he would be in line with the likes of Henderson, Gini and Milner, who were all really savvy signings for them that contributed massively to the trophies they've won under Klopp. Edited March 26, 2023 by KaKa

Ikon
Don’t see Liverpool going for JWP at all. If anything they will be looking to get the age down of their squad. Very unlikely! Edited March 26, 2023 by Ikon

Whitley mag
The only Southampton midfielder I’d be taking at these prices quoted would be Lavia. The only 3 British midfielders I want us entertaining in the summer are Maddison , Rice and Bellingham. Edited March 26, 2023 by Whitley mag

But when they signed Milner the rest of the team wasn’t as old as now I bet (average age) I see them going for high quality players now with plenty of years ahead of them. Not spending quite a bit of money on players that won’t bring the average age down. Edited March 26, 2023 by Ikon

Just google Milenkovic-Savic and have a look at the types of clubs he is typically linked with.
Away Toon
In a team that struggles to score enough goals we need to get Bruno who carries both a goal and assist threat much further forward IMO and neither JWP or McTominay would allow us to do that. If Southampton go down I also don't think they will be asking for what that article claims they will.
SUPERTOON
I don’t think JWP is a bad player, certainly rather him than Mctominay. However I’m also certain we can and should be aiming for a lot better than either.

Also, I doubt they will sell him for anything less than £30m and therefore I think Liverpool will be looking to add to that instead and make a better investment. SteV
Ward-Prowse was completely anonymous in the three games against us this season (set piece delivery aside). Not necessarily fair to make any kind of judgement solely off that like, but it doesn’t really fill you with confidence.
