Training ground is unrecognisable from a few years ago.

But the state of Shola man.

Seems a nice fella by all accounts, but I bet he washes bogs and holds doors open just so he doesn't get binned.

If you were an ashley stooge then no forgiveness.

Really enjoyed that. I'm sure we're still not at the standards of the seemingly legions of clubs who've developed completely new premises, but at least now it actually looks like something that belongs in the 21st century.

Don't get the Shola hate, post playing career like. A geordie working for the club his loves, if he wasn't doing a decent job I've no doubt he would be out.

I mean, i doubt he's sitting in his arse just collecting his pay packet like.

Me neither.  Local lad.  He gave his all.  Scored a few, some of them crackers.  He was never a world beater but so what.

For comparison purposes, here’s some images from Leicester’s ‘state-of-art’ training facility:

Seen some stories that they might be having to allow other teams to train there to help fund it in the Championship. Seems not all of their fans think it’s a good thing to have it, and whilst I can’t see that at all myself, there’s the odd interesting point raised in this thread:

That's pretty incredible. We're obviously very limited by the current footprint. I walked through the training ground in 2013 - they've done an excellent job modernizing it both inside and out.

I raised this a couple of weeks ago. It's really interesting to see their fans discussing the same points.

Moving a training ground miles out of the city is not necessarily a good thing IMO - in that it can disconnect the players from the club. I definitely think there is an argument that has happened at Leicester. I don't think that will happen for us - all of the potential sites are within the city boundaries even at the rural edge.

The cost of it has to be judged as slightly misjudged by Leicester too - especially since they were not able to sell their old training ground to help play for it (it is protected by a sporting covenant). Again I'm not sure that would be a major issue for us - as the cash cost isn't really an issue in the same way as long as it is not included in FFP calcs.
