Playing at left back receiving the ball while facing towards the opposition half with opposition players in front of him is arguably one of the big reasons why he is able to do it. Put him further up the pitch or in midfield where he'll have opposition players all around him and having to receive the ball quite often with his back to goal and he won't be able to do that nearly as effective as he does now. I do wonder how many Newcastle-daft Gen Z-ers there are, at least compared to us Millennials who didn't have/barely had social media at age 9/10/11, and it was Sir Bobby, Shearer, Solano et al.
