Ironically, he always seems so calm and collected going about his business.

Has come into the team with no fuss and looks like he's been part of the defensive line for years.

Really happy for him.

Tricky one. Realistically Thiaw is our future RCB and in this form should continue.

Schär started the season well and was only dropped due to concussion so I can see him coming back in, Eddie being Eddie.

Maybe not straight back in but it’ll be called rotation. Especially seeing him get subbed on today for the dying minutes, it says to me that Eddie wants him featuring regularly.

More of a case to drop Schar for Thiaw. Botman and Burn is the tougher call. Shoving Burn to LB is not the right call in the long term and Howe will need to make a tough call as Hall should start if fit.

I thought we were getting a very rough diamond but so far he's looked anything but. I'd keep him in ahead of Fabi tbh; looks like he's the future.

Support this. Bloke looks solid and love his passing range. Him and Sven is delicious.

Already our best passer of the ball at CB, I reckon.

Obviously he hasn’t got a Schar 60 yard diagonal/through ball in his locker. But he moves the ball early and usually quickly. Looks really assured on the ball.

I think he gets caught flat footed a few times when he goes super aggressive with his pressing. But at least he is comfortable doing it. As it’s a big part of the system for our CB’s.

We play two matches a week for a long time, wouldn't use the word drop at all.

This. I think part of why Howe went so strong against Bradford was to show there isn’t necessarily a first and second 11. Every game matters and there’s 20 odd players capable of playing in any of them

Other than his comparative youth he’s not a step up on Schar, Lascelles or even Krafth in that right CB position.

We’re panic bidding now. Not a great sign.

Aye I was expecting him to be a bit shakey, given what I’d read on here and him nearly going to Como.

Him and Botman look fucking class.

Considering Schar and Burn have been so consistently solid for a year, it's really gratifying to see their successors in Thiaw and Botman look so imperious when stepping in and showing their class.

They are the future. I reckon this year is some what transitional in that regard if they all stay fit. Schar and Burn have been and are absolutely quality. Schar in particular is closer to the technical quality of Thiaw and Botman if not the same. However, youth and athleticism is on their respective sides.

We have the basis of a very solid back 5 in my opinion for a long period of time if folk are willing to commit. In fact - our midfield 3 is similar/same and with Woltemade we potentially have something very solid to build upon.
