He definitely doesn't save the first once Romero outdoes Burn it's a goal against pretty much anyone despite it not being in the corner.

Second one is just weird, you can just about say he sees it very late but it was so slow that he should have reacted to it. Pope either saves it or stands still

Funny enough I rate Pope to save their first goal more than the second one, it's the sort of save that is one of Pope's best strength's - his close distance/shot stopping reactions.

Needless to say Pope's kicking and decision making has been shocking lately either way.

I’m not sure why many are surprised by his performance tbh, it’s what he has done his whole career. He isn’t a top keeper and he will continue to cost us points.

I just assumed Howe knew him a bit better than we did. His former player right?

And strangely today was a game where his kicking wouldn't have been exposed.

It's a funny old game as someone once said

He does, however we have all watched him the last few years and he makes howlers. Not sure why he would suddenly stop. We need to go out and sign an actual top keeper, easy said than done of course.

His fault was that he should have taken the centre of the goal after the punch, but unless he called then there would have been an expectancy that one of Burn, Thiaw or Woltemade should have cleared it, as all 3 of them looked in distance to clear it.

So after the clamour for Ramsdale in for Pope, he's now shite and we don't want him in now either, is that right?

At this point, it’s not really going to make much difference. Both aren’t good enough.

He's not the answer, he was never going to be, Trafford probably won't be either.

I know it's easier said than done but we need a real bonafide #1 rather than rummaging through a bunch of 'he'll do for now' type keepers.

The thing that stands out for me is that he looks very small, but that might be through watching Pope for so many years.

Disappointing from him tonight. Doesn't look like there's much between him and the bloke he's replaced, at the end of it all.
