Hopefully Eddie is fuming at Pope as much as we are and gives Ramsdale a chance

Eddie tends to stick with the players he trusts though. But at some point he has to show some faith in Ramsdale otherwise he's going to wonder why he signed up here.

That part really annoys me with Howe.

Deserves the next start. Hope he gets it.

Just the calmness at the back, thinking about where the ball will go after as opposed to just freaking out about possible danger in the next 2 seconds.  Not shitting himself continually like pope can and has done moreso this season was useful.

"FUCK, WHATS THAT. SHIT, A FOOTBALL.  WHAT DO I DO AGAIN???????????  ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Has to keep starting. Reduces the pressure on our team immensely simply because it's not hoofed back to the opposition constantly. Yeah he could be stronger at claiming crosses, but his ability to pass the fucking ball more than makes up for it

Echo others saying he deserves a start the next game or 5. But another example

of the result influencing how we see the performance. No better or worse than Pope v City. Had fuck all to do really and was just ‘ok’ based on not needing to do much.

Way better on the ball. Which we already knew. Nice to have an option to pass back to when we’re under pressure.

But he was rooted to his line and scared of crosses. Which TBF isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Based on some of Pope’s recent howlers

Fair play to those who were clammering for him to start. He changed our game entirely with his calmness at the back.

We do lose authority in the box from set pieces but for where we are at, its the lesser of two evils.

Its Ramsdales shirt to lose.

Aye, you're right.

But we've got a combination of Burn, Thiaw, Woltemade, Joelinton and Botman all potentially defending set pieces.

If we need Pope to command the air then we're fucked

I love Pope but it felt nice to not panic when the ball was played back. We retained possession a lot better which is crucial away especially from home. Hope he starts vs Spurs.

Helped having Tino and Hall playing, makes the world of difference.

but when a keeper is quiet it is all about how they dictate the tempo of play from the back and he was miles ahead of anything Pope has done in that respect.
