Excited by his talent, good on the ball, good first touch, direct.

If I had to make any kind of comparison it would be Kieron Dyer.

Cautiously optimistic but as @Ikon says - availability is going to be key for him.

We ended up dominant and everyone played well.  But there was a spell where Benfica were on top. Burn got skinned. They were able to play through the press.

We are a much fitter side though. And ran away with it by the end.

Aye agree about Burn. Even Brucey tactics would have targeted him. Massive fan of Burn by the way....at CB. Benfica were always going to have a spell, albeit  briefly. They have good technical players. The long diagonal pass behind Burn seemed to be their main focus.

Thought he did ok obviously just coming back from injury but good to get minutes in him.

More to come hopefully.

Not a stat nerd at all but showing his passing was good his duels not so much. But in the first half particularly they were attacking his side quite a bit when they weren't going long.

Not anti stats by any stretch but if you only saw that you'd think Woltemade wasn't fucking unreal last night.

Most definitely the eye test is much better than just reading a list and passing judgement.

I watched the game and didn't see anything amazing but you have loads of mitigation like coming back from injury and getting used to the howe way and new team etc.

His passing stats look excellent while his duals not so much that may simply be trying to avoid being drawn into a foul and giving away a free kick again no context in a number.

He is better than both longstaff and willock in terms of someone who you can hopefully rotate in without a massive drop off in quality.

I thought he looked a little bit rusty (not surprising), but offered something a bit different than Joelinton. More pace, more mobility, and better with the ball at his feet. Will certainly be more of a goalscoring threat.

It's nice to finally have a bit of depth now with Bruno, J7, Tonali, Willock, Miley, and Ramsey. Being able to drop players for a break without a massive drop off (Bruno is going to need a rest at some point, however!)

Put a lovely clipped ball back into the box towards Burn after a corner was cleared in the first half. Felt refreshing as used to seeing balls in either overhit or aimlessly floated and easily defended.

Other than that, I think he is still acclimatising to his first new club since he joined Villa as a schoolboy and getting up to speed after his injury. Feel he is growing in confidence as well and the signs are positive.
